FRUITOFTHELOOM was right.! I swapped monitors purchased a required HDMI=HDMI cable for the swapped monitor and all problems are solved. The HP LA1951g monitor is 100% OK and working now with VGA interface on another computer. The HP did never give any problem, so I suspect the HDMI-DVI cable origin...

Thanks for the reply.

The received P3 has a friction card holder OK, still it did not boot with a good card that works in a P2.
I suspect it was distributed by the supplier, while he got it already returned from an earlier customer, because I missed documentation in the box.
