How do I automatically update a text widget using a tkinter?

Hey. I wrote a small graphical interface program in which the text widget changes depending on whether the Raspberry Pi is connected to the myssid network or not. To update the status I must click on the button. How do I automatically update a widget without a loop? from tkinter import* import subpr...

b indicates that it is a python 3 "byte literal".
Try the following instead of the current if.

Code: Select all

if ssid.decode('ascii') == 'bn98':
This decodes the "bytes literal" to a standard python string.
Many thanks!

Did you put the name of your SSID in to the following line? if ssid == "MySSID" You can of course add print(ssid) to your code to see what wifi network is detected. Yes, I put the name of my SSID in to the following line if ssid == "MySSID" I added a line print(ssid) and noticed that a string is ou...

Re: Help please, how to make the variable float in TextBox (guizero)

You get the contents of a TextBox by looking at its value and this will always be a string. If you want the floating point value entered you need to check that it contains a valid number and convert it if it is. # create a TextBox object input_box = TextBox(app) # when you want to read the value as...

Re: How to set automatic password entry in rsync?

Yes, with dropbearkey. This might work — Generate SSH Key in Dropbear — but I'm not sure about the KEY_DIR value. It might not work on an Omega2. I suspect it might be /root/.ssh but I can't be sure. You know that the Omega2 runs an open wireless AP and has a widely-known root password? Unless you'...

Re: How to set automatic password entry in rsync?

RaTTuS's responses would be fine if the Onion Omega2 were a regular Linux device. Since the Omega2 is a teeny-tiny embedded board running a very small version of Linux, normal rules don't apply. This guide suggests that you want to put the public key in /etc/dropbear/authorized_keys . I understood ...

I entered these commands into the terminal and got the key. But when I enter again

Code: Select all

then the terminal again asks for a password. Maybe I did not quite understand you?

It's just a website, find a program to open its models I guess.
One looks like an STL file, quite a common format in 3D printing software.
No this is a SLDASM file. To open it need the SolidWorks program, but it is paid.
