Re: Analogue audio redux

The recording is interlaced (1080i) and is using Advanced (HW) deinterlace. I changed it to Line Double(HW) and the result is the same, loud click and pops. Also I tried turning off deinterlace with the None option. In all cases the loud clicks and pops remain. Some other tests - 720p video (h264) -...

Re: Analogue audio redux

What are you playing over the analogue audio jack? What command are you using to start playback? I am using MythTV frontend, playing an HD recording. https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi It is using the GPU for openmax decoding and presentation of HD video at the time. Perhaps that is related t...

Analogue audio redux causes major audio problems

I have been using Analog audio and analog video with an old analog TV set on a raspberry pi 2 for years and the sound has been perfect. I just upgraded from raspbian 2017-08-16 to 2018-10-09. Now the audio is full of loud crackles and pops, it is completely unlistenable. After some trial and error I...

ALSA Digital Audio and playback problems

I have had MythTV working perfectly on both RPI 2 and RPI 3 for a few years now. After doing sudo apt dist-upgrade and sudo rpi-update, digital audio pass through no longer works and playback is stuttery (something is slowing the system down). I tried various prior Raspbian images and found that it ...

Re: Advanced and fast deinterlace not working if not tunnele

Yes - that should have been in my code - I added it to MythTV and it works much better now. Thanks for the prompt help with this.

Re: Advanced and fast deinterlace not working if not tunnele

OK Thank you that solves it.

I added one line and it works now:
pOutHeader->nFlags = buff_header->nFlags

There is a comment for nFlags in the openmax specification "A component
should propagate this field from an input buffer to its associated output buffer." which was not done.

Advanced and fast deinterlace not working if not tunneled

I have been struggling with this for some time. We use OpenMAX for video playback in MythTV. It used to work but at some upgrade point deinterlaced videos started to show jagged edges like they were not being deinterlaced. It either occurred starting with a new raspbian version or maybe started with...
