Screen Temperature and refresh rate

I am looking for the operating screen temperature and refresh rate of the official RPi display. I looked on (what I thought) the documentation from the foundation and didn't see it there.

Humidities effect on the Raspberry pi display

Does anyone know where some documentation is for how humidity effects the display? I sent one to Singapore and had a complaint that it stopped working. I know it worked fine when i sent it. The touch screen stopped working. I was thinking that moisture shorted the circuitry on the ribbon for the tou...

Blue tint added to my images

Is there a internal setting for displays? All my images have a blue tint to them when displayed either through the HDMI or DSI. Is there something I can change to help with that?

Re: Making a IO board

If you want extra storage you can use the USB, the same as on a Pi 3B. Perhaps get the CM3L and initially put in in a carrier board with an SD card that sets the USB boot OTP bit. Then have USB storage on your own board with whatever capacity you require. My understanding ins that using a SD card h...

Re: Making a IO board

storage, not RAM, a PI can essentially use a (nearly) limitless amount of storage.
So can I increase storage and boot the OS from there?

Making a IO board

I am building my own CMIO board. But, I need a little help. First off, I do not plan on using very many GPIO's. What I am trying to accomplish: 1.) More memory. I need at least 16 GB of storage. Also would like to be able to run the regular version of Raspbian. 2.) Use both cameras and displays. 3.)...

Re: Mouse cursor starts on start menu

The real problem is that when hovering over the start menu, a little pop up text box says to "Click here." In beta testing, my testers tried to press that before my program started up. I really just want that box to go away somehow. I don't care where the pointer starts.

Mouse cursor starts on start menu

Title says it all. I made some adjustments to Jessie and now my mouse pointer starts on menu no matter where I move the menu. Does any one know the root cause for this? I wrote down the changes I made and I will make a new version of the OS and see if I can figure out the change I made. If I can dup...

Set new menu image with CL

I'd like to know a way to set the image of the start menu with the command line. I know I can do it by right clicking the menu and go to menu settings, but I would like to do this through the CL. Just for my personal growth. :D

create my very own apt-get

I have a python program that my company loads onto RPi as part of a system. Instead of sending out new SD cards to customers, I would like to create a way to update to python program and add needed files or remove unwanted ones. I found this web page to help me, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Rep...

Permissions of a file

I have a very basic question about Linux in general that I cannot find an answer to. When someone authenticates an FTP with an app like filezilla, am they authenticating as the owner, part of the group, or as a "other" user?

Re: flash drive mounting

Everything I've read on other forums about altering the fstab file, adding a line instructing the pi to mount a particular flash drive to a folder I create. Which is nice and all, but I need the solution for my problem to be for any flash drive I insert.

Re: flash drive mounting

I need the flash drive to mount when it gets plugged in. Is there a way to auto mount the flash drive to user bob like it does with user pi? This is supposed to be part of a user process and I can't give access to the terminal. The end user will probably know less about Linux than I do.

flash drive mounting

I've created a new user. We'll call it 'bob'. Through some file manipulation, I was able to get my pi to automatically log into bob and startx. An issue I'm have is that I do not have access to my flash drives. How can I give user bob the same permissions as the user pi? My ultimate goal is to delet...

Re: Making certain files unavailable when file sharing

This is for access to other people, not me. I know they will use a third party program. When I experimented with this using Filezilla, I had access to everything. I want the end user to only have access to one file only. There will be a program on my pi I cannot let them have. Plus, I don't want som...

Making certain files unavailable when file sharing

I am setting up a FTP for my pi, but I would like to make only a certain file available to extract from on my Pi. When using Filezilla, I see all my files including my hidden ones. How can I make this possible? Be gentle, I'm new to this.

Thank you very much for the information. Once I have my SSH enabled, how do i extract the data from my PC? My thought was to write a program for the PC to do this. I am trying to set up a program on my PC that will extract data from a MySQL database on my Pi3 along with some images taken by the PiCamera.
