Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

Thank you @jamesh, but if I understand correctly, you are refering to Buster not Stretch, unfortunately I cannot update to Buster on my RPi 3 project due to libraries issues on the code I use.

Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

Thank you @topguy. I was aware of 'raspi2fb' but last time I tried (months ago) I encountered issues. Never tried the experimental Open GL drivers but it does not sound like a solid option.

Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

@topguy, sorry for not replying earlier...yes I want to have mirror images in DSI touchscreen and the HDMI output all the time. Have you found a way of doing this in Stretch and RPi 3?

Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

Thank you @topguy for the clarification. I am actually looking for mirroring screen in both DSI and HDMI output so the two Kivy process option is not optimal. It is difficult to believe that this is so difficult to achieve. @6by9 when you said 'Fake KMS will now support multiple displays' you mean f...

Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

i guess you are right, its probably a firmware problem, am writing a software where you can manage it from the TFT screen and gets the output on the hdmi (not mirroring), but so far am not able to do that. hopefully there will be an update to the firmware where it supports 2 framebuffers. We have v...

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Thank you '6by9', I did not realise that together with the RPi 4 you also released the new version of Raspbian...a lot of hard work at the Raspberry Pi headquarters.
I will give a try to the new version.
Thank you!

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Hi, Great to see the new RPi 4 and the upgrades on Raspbian to support multi screens. It has been mentioned that multiscreen will be compatible with RPi 3, however I have just now do a dist-upgrade and I do not see Screen Configuration app under Preferences. Is there anything I am missing? Any advic...

Re: run the HDMI and TFT screen simultaneously

Hi Jamesh, all So while I am aware of the newer related post about driving multiple screens, I wanted to try the advice here by Jamesh: sudo raspi-config select advanced options and find the graphics driver option. Select KMS option. (not fake KMS) Now it should start up with the display running on ...

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Hi Jamesh,

I join forces with aBUGS. It would be great to have an update on this as it really would be an amazing feature for many projects.

All the best!

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Hi Jamesh, This is sounding very promising indeed. I really look forward to having a solid and reliable multiscreen by default support on the raspberry pi, it will be of great convenience for a few projects I am working on. Thanks again for the amazing work you guys doing at the RPi foundation. Rega...

Re: How to run HDMI and Official Raspberry Pi Display (DSI) simu

Hi magichalo

Seeing that you have tested both tools (raspi2raspi and the one linked to by aBUGS). Am I correct on thinking that the one linked by aBUGS cannot clone a screen, which is what raspi2raspi is supposed to do?

Thank you

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Hi,
I do not mean to clone an application but the whole screen. Actually it would be a Kivy GUI that fills the whole screen. I would like to have it both on the touchscreen and also on any HDMI monitor plugged to the RPi.

Thank you

Hi magichalo

Which project are you referring to, raspi2raspi or the one aBUGs was mentioning?

Thank you

Re: Multiple Frame buffer beta testers wanted

Hi Jamesh, aBUGs

Thank you for your amazing work on this multiple screens feature.
I was wondering what the configuration should be in order to get clone screens both at HDMI and Touchscreen, instead of extended desktop.

thank you.

Re: How to run HDMI and Official Raspberry Pi Display (DSI) simu

Thank you for your reply aBUGs, I read the thread you posted and it is promising that RPi Engineers are finally working on this. However it is not clear if the package does screen cloning by default or what it has to be done to accomplish that, the same way as 'raspi2raspi' does. Also I am not sure ...

Re: How to run HDMI and Official Raspberry Pi Display (DSI) simu

Hi ElkBerry and AndyD, HELP with raspi2raspi, please. I have recently come across this thread, and after reading it, I realised that 'raspi2raspi' does exactly what I want. I have installed it as per the instructions on AndyD's GitHub and it worked first time. I do get a touchscreen reproduction on ...

Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

@mikerr: Thank you for this nice project. I have implemented it and works very well with the only exception that when playing a youtube track the volume goes all the way to maximum independently of what the original volume was set to. The same issue occurs when I use the similar radio code by @ktink...

Re: Playing BBC radio stations

Thank you Sheridat for looking at mpd, I used similar conf file as you before but it did not connect to the Voice hat soundcard. It is a pity that mpd takes over the soundcard so is not available to other processes. I guess vlc seems to be the easy way forward and it runs at relatively low CPU on RP...

I also thought it would be useful to add a link I found to an extensive database of international radio station streams: http://www.surfmusic.de/country/uk.html In order to get the stream address open the 'Listen Live' link of the radio you want and then on the newly opened window click on 'Stand al...
