bypassing the Pi4 to provide 5v for HDD's
Just reading the power requirements for the Pi4 shows typical power consumption at 800ma. 2 2.5" HDDs would require 700ma each but the Pi4 spec says it will only pass 1.2A through the USB ports. If a small power interface was made with power through to the Pi and 2 USB power (only) sockets made...

Re: Can't find Raspberry Pi Zero with Ethernet-USB on my network
I am in the same predicament. I'm using a pi zero W and can connect via WiFi ok but the USB Ethernet dongle I bought does not work UNLESS IT IS CONNECTED AFTER THE PI HAS BOOTED. probably my own fault for buying a cheap one, but in my defence, I followed a link from a Youtube Video which used the sa...

Re: power supplies
Thanks, I bought a caged power supply 5v 5A here https://cpc.farnell.com/stontronics/pd-25-s5/power-supply-enclosed-5v-25w/dp/PW03527?CMP=TREML007-005 for an irrigation project. I was hoping to put this next (media server Alexa controlled) in a slim case with an inline power supply. I may have to re...

power supplies
Hi all I'm looking for an inline power supply rather than a plug integrated one. I find the plug integrated ones stick out too far especially if I want to deploy a voice-activated remote socket. I suppose a caged equipment power supply would be ok but that would introduce mains voltage into the Pi's...

control a Panasonic TV via Pi
Can you help? This code purports to control a Panasonic TV. I found it on 'Smart home Controls' forum. I was wondering if it could be adapted for use on a Raspberry Pi? Any clues to if its possible to convert to python would be very much appreciated. J3dog function TVControl(KeyPress) local DeviceIp...

Help regarding Panasonic Vierra Televisions
Hi all I found this script that purports to control Panasonic Vierra Televisions. It was posted on VERA smarter home control forums and my question(s) is 1) Does anyone know how to utilise this on the Raspberry Pi? (convert to a Python program or another recommendation?) 2) Would it be something tha...
