you are right it dosent run for long that's why I went the way of a dc boost circuit or a ubec

the best thing I found was using 3 li-ions in series and using a ubec 2000mah at 11.1 volt give about 6 hours + run time

I can tell you now that the 3 volt boost circuit will be doublthe current draw as the pi and screen pulls when I had my screen and pi on they were pulling upto 500mah the draw from the battery was close to an amp

I did my monitor so that was 5 volt out to usb that way I could run the screen on a 12 volt battery and the reg in the lcd ran the pi

I wish they would make a screen already that an add on for the pi you know you just slot it on top like you do the expansion boards

yeah 2 are power and 2 are data lines to the soc not usb data lines

the far left cap is 12 volt the other 2 should be the 5 volt if you follow that rul the chip uor looking at near the 12v cap the pin facing you is 12 nect is the 5

I would put the ground pin of the meter on the ground power lead then use the psotive side of your meter to read the chip pins

the dot tends to mean pin 1 of the chip
from looking at the photo as it is in that pick the pins facing you should be 12v next pin 5v from what I remmeber

I had to mod a usb hub as I run battery from dc boost circuits and one alone wont supply the power needed so I have one for the pi the other is hard wired to the hub I did this by cutting the power wires in the usb that would go to the pi and attached them to the 2nd boost circuit so the pi and hub ...

I see in the post above yours he also added 3 extra wire from the resisters below the ic to the line of contacts maybe that's the difference also he connected to the other cap that could make a difference also

you see the far left the white box try and see if one of them is 5 volt
I would supply 12 volt as normal to the normal sport for it and see what gives 5 volt you should then beable to add 5 volt there wire thickness might be a issue and not allowing enogth current

you need video input for it to display that or like me it needs more then 5 volt

im at latitude 53 so my panl is lined up for max winter production and that tends to be about 65 to 75 degrees call it 68 to be safe lol I did do some research on proper placement for my latitude....I think my angle is a little steaper than 64 degrees....i may be closer to 75 degrees facing solar no...

the batterys were not 5000mah like they were ment to be but only 1100mah but I would get and hour maybe 2 with 4400mah total I shorlt scrapped this project after not been able to finda screen with good res to handle the text lol he done the same cut outs on case as I did but I moved the rpi sd card ...

Does it have the RTL8187 chipset as well ?

I modded my pi was a rev 2 512 model I removed the lan chip and minermise the pi also to use less power now wheni plug a hub in it just complains about bad usb as soon as I connecta keyboard or mouse to the hub but wifi will run fine hence trying to set up the wifi on boot to connect to a router so ...

age ant really a matter I was fixing and making things from a very young age a step buy step guide god I would not know were to start I am more hands on then theory the way I did it is I soldered a very fin wire on to every pad of the button but checking that the buttons could still connect once you...
