Re: Putting a new OS onto the SD card

If your using windows you likely used win32 image writer: http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/Data-CD-DVD-Burning/Win32-Disk-Imager.shtml Instead of using the write option you can use read to make an image of the contents of your SD card. You can then over-write the SD card with another raspbe...

Re: Asus N10 WIFI Setup

Your repositories should be fine by default with raspbian no need to change them. That guide isnt specifically for raspbian it is for debian which this OS is based upon. This is the process I followed for my wifi card: sudo apt-get update Type the following with the wifi dongle plugged in: lsusb Now...

Very thorough guide.

EDIT noticed your having issues, your dongle may be drawing too much power. You may need a powered USB hub and connect the wifi to that.

Right now it isn't. Because it has been working fine running headerless with the wifi dongle it didn't come to mind to try it in the hub.

Re: Binaries for XBMC and Quake 3 (with sound!)

Thank for the binaries. XBMC works pretty well, though it has crashed quite a few times even when just navigating menu's. And consistently freezes when loading the get more addons list, I haven't had chance to get any logs but I'll get some tonight. Not sure if this is normal but with a clean instal...

Thanks, but I was installing sabnzbd+ and it didn't "like" unrar-free. ;-)
Is that when you load up Sabnzbd in the browser? AFAIK it doesn't affect unraring.

Re: Sickbeard and Sabnzbd usage, one big issue

Used tips here and a few other places and just found a setup which has managed to download, par and unrar a 1.5 GB file for the first time without crashing multiple times and badly corrupted files. Re: raspbian kernel

I've had a few issues with the latest rpi-update kernel and my usb wifi adapter. I've seen it mentioned when googling that the rt2800usb drivers break with the latest linux kernel. I'm pretty new to linux and compiling drivers and kernels manually etc., right now I'm just not going to update the ker...
