Re: Recording from one sound device whilst playing a different source from another

Hi, I did see that and will disable the visualiser as a precaution, but everything in the log shows shairport continuing normally. It still *thinks* it’s playing the audio, but the visualiser appears to have reassigned the output device to the USB (even though it’s just a mic). Is there a way to pro...

Recording from one sound device whilst playing a different source from another

Hi All, I’m trying to make use of two github projects in my PiRadio; The awesome shairport-sync to stream audio from iOS to the Pi, and the audio-reactive-LED project: Shairport-sync: https://github.com/mikebrady/shairport-sync Audio reactive LED: https://github.com/scottlawsonbc/audio-reactive-led-...

Re: Can't get new soundcard to work

Did you find a way to do this? I need a similar setup to output via the IQaudio HAT i have and need to pickup the input via a USB mic sound card.

Cheers

Re: SD card swap from 3B to 3B+

Ahh, so updating NOOBS won’t clear won’t clear my storage partition?

As I’ve only ever used it to initialise my setup, i figured it was akin to formatting and reinstalling!

I’ll give that a whirl!

Re: SD card swap from 3B to 3B+

Stretch, I’ve done all my installs using NOOBs, editing the wpasupplicant file to get WiFi and also enabling SSH. I can do everything I need then via RDP and SSH. So the ‘old’ card in the 3B is running Stretch, has correct repos and is apt-get update & upgraded regularly... I looked in to how to pre...

SD card swap from 3B to 3B+

Hi, recently picked up a 3B+ with a view to upgrading my home server. Was hoping to swap the card from the 3B in to the 3B+ and after some googling understand this is possible after running the usual update routines and possibly a rpi-update. None of that has helped, the 3B+ will boot with the suppl...

Re: What’s happened to my start menu appearance!??

I restored my old config files and PIXEL looks like it should again, I still have black window chrome which isn’t right and not sure how to change that back to blue? Otherwise, mostly back to normal!

Re: What’s happened to my start menu appearance!??

OK, so it looks as if PIXEL has for some reason reverted to pre-Jessie.. I’ve tried all the upgrade options including dist-upgrade and no joy. I’m struggling to find any reference as to how to get the current version of PIXEL... No idea why this has happened so randomly! Edited to add: [email protected]...

What’s happened to my start menu appearance!??

Re: HowTo - Mumble server

Hi, hoping someone can help me further my project. I have 2 pi’s and am using a mumble iOS app. I got the server running perfectly on my Pi home-server, and I can use the iOS app to test. There doesn’t seem to be much info on using a pi as a client though? Does anyone have any experience of using Mu...

Re: Shairport-sync metadata to websocket

Anyone?

Depending on what order I put parts of the scripts I usually get one bit of functionality working or the other.

Self.write_message() is undefined though, even after it has explicitly been defined!

Shairport-sync metadata to websocket

Hi everyone, I’ve successfully been able to get the awesome Shairport-Sync to send currently playing meta data via PIPE to text files which are then periodically polled by my webpage to display the contents; artist, track title, and album name. I’ve not yet worked out how to decode the album art, so...

Hi, Really interesting thread! I’ve been looking for a way to ping BLE devices in the house and return the alias and battery level, with a view to outputting the information on my PHP Notification Center page... This will show which devices are nearby and whose will need charging. I must say I’ve go...

Re: Shairport Metadata

You guys have made some awesome process here!! I've got as far as being able to read the metadata in terminal, after manually starting the shairport-metadata-reader program. Next steps are to automatically start it, then somehow pass the content to a HTML file sitting on localhost... no idea how to ...

Battery level of nearby Bluetooth devices

Hi, I've found various scripts for scanning for Bluetooth devices, and made a fairly comprehensive logger. I binned it off because the scanning interfered with playback over airplay in my project. I'd know like to know how you could retrieve the devices battery levels and, eventually output to HTML....
