Re: Servo control using PWM

Thanks, This has sorted my problem. I have been using a flask App with python code and different buttons to move servo in different positions, but it only worked for the first button push and then played stupid. This suggestion sorted it. PeterM. Maybe this helps: 4 I am fairly sure it is a bug in t...

Re: RC Car

Hi. Again. I have got mine working free of my in-house Wifi by configuring the R-Pi as an Access point. I can give you the link to that if you can't find one. One problem that I found is that not all Wireless dongles will work in AP mode. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/software_access_point Mi...

Re: python guizero not installing

One way of getting around the problem is to not use Python.
Using https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_grid.asp
I have created my grid in HTML, and my program is running well now.

Regards to all.

Re: Python Tkinter GPIO User Interface

Thanks Scotty for your reply. I have sorted my display problem using https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_grid.asp to create an HTML grid instead of python. I have resolved(?) another problem that the R-Pi kept hanging after I had just connected to it. I tried my other PI and it kept on going, so I sus...

Re: Python Tkinter GPIO User Interface

Hi, I didn't realise that this was so old. I am trying to develop a Web based interface to a R-PI to drive an RC-car using flask and not having much luck at the moment. I came acrss this and have loaded it on Raspbian Stretch, but it gives me the follwong error messages. I would appreciate any thoug...

Re: python guizero not installing

January 2019 - I am still having this problem. I have updated and upgraded stretch. I am running it on a R-Pi Model B rev 1 but that should not be a cause for concern. Here is one set of output: [email protected]:~/rc-car $ python ./test.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "./test.py", line 1,...

Thank you very much.
The basic manual on GPIOzero did not contain that.

Much appreciated.

Sensing motor state using GPIOZero

I am working on a program to drive two motors in an old RC-car. I have it partially working so that if on my web application I press the forward button, the motor goes forward. I want to press this button again to stop the car. I had in mind to sense teh state of motor.forward() and change the state...

Re: No wifi with old PI model B and Ralink card..

Hi, I tested the R-Pi and wireless with a previous system and know that all works. I have country code in wpa_supplicant.conf, but have now edited that to show: network={ ssid="bmth-wireless" psk="*********" # proto=RSN key_mgmt=WPA-PSK # pairwise=CCMP # auth_alg=OPEN } - in other words, some bits c...

Re: No wifi with old PI model B and Ralink card..

Thanks for that PCmanbob. That new means of configuring did the trick for my ethernet connection, which I set to 192.168.1.9 but not for the wireless connection (192.168.1.8) I got caught out by the third octet being '0' but sorted that. In dhcpcd.conf, does it still need a line addressing wpa_suppl...

No wifi with old PI model B and Ralink card..

Similar to others, I have built a new SD card with Stretch 2018-06-27 and configured the wireless as I usually do, but it won't boot to Wifi. If I boot with the ethernet plugged it does connect. If I boot the Raspberry Pi with a card which I think is Jessie, everything works. It is an old R-Pi Model...

Tell me more about how you built it? Is it off-the-shelf parts. What is the programming- an app or homegrown?

Cheers,

Hi, Did you ever get any responses to this? I have discovered Blynk and have yet to get it to work. I have given up on WebIOPi as it doesn't work on later versions of Jessie or Stretch, at least for me. http://madsmaddad.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/the-fun-is-in-making-not-using.html I would like to know...

Between this and the GPIO is not defined error, I am having problems with Jessie. I read about MAvlink in New Scientist. It was written to control UAV's from smartphones. Has anyone ported it to the Raspberry PI? I am interested in having a communications protocol to set up the I/O ports on the RPi from a remote computer, and manipulate/capture data from them as required. I have ...

Just put squeezy back on the card and retried everything - no luck. I'll have to do as you suggest, but I don't remember doing it before. It's a pain as I have to cart everything downstairs to a wired Internet connection. :(
Thanks for advice.
