Re: Raspbian Stretch: issue with BCM43xx wireless and scapy

It is not the brcm80211 firmware..I found it was when I upgraded the kernel. To 1.20170703-1

Re: Raspbian Stretch (9.1) has arrived !!

Thanks for responding. Yes! March Jessie works..the newer versions fail..very easy to test. #! /usr/bin/env python from scapy.all import sniff from scapy.all import ARP def arp_monitor_callback(pkt): if ARP in pkt and pkt[ARP].op in (1,2): #who-has or is-at return pkt.sprintf("%ARP.hwsrc% %ARP.psrc%...

Re: Raspbian Stretch: issue with BCM43xx wireless and scapy

So in reading through the topic I saw a mention of the Broadpwn fix..maybe that is the culprit? I made a post to the topic and maybe someone will comment. Of course the more people who chime in on this would help elevate the issue’s visibility..thanks

Re: Raspbian Stretch (9.1) has arrived !!

I see that the Broadpwn fix is there for the integrated wifi but not for the usb dongle. I have noticed that scapy ARP sniffing function no longer works on the integrated wifi but does on the dongle.

Re: Raspbian Stretch: issue with BCM43xx wireless and scapy

No work around just staying on Jessie March release or use an external wifi usb dongle. It is sort of a regression issue where it worked and now doesn’t. It will get harder to fix I fear since it never worked on stretch and they will not go back to Jessie any longer. Thanks for noticing this and may...

Raspbian Stretch: issue with BCM43xx wireless and scapy

the following python 2.x code worked on raspbian jessie prior to april 2017 using the pi0w or the pi3b integrated wifi ... it no longer functions on Stretch but if I plug in a tenda usb dongle it works fine and returns the mac address of an amazon dash button or a esp8266-01s device joining the netw...

Re: Issue #57 Hack a Dash Button

I just used the jessie 4.9.28-v7 with a tenda w311m wifi module and it worked fine .. this was on a rpi 2 .. so maybe it is just with the integrated wifi on the pi zero???

Re: Issue #57 Hack a Dash Button

scapy works on wi-fi with jessie 4.4.50-v7+ #970 Mon Feb 20 and fails with jessie 4.9.28+ #998 Mon May 15... I simply took the latest unmodified distro from the raspi-pi downloads .. full version or jessie-lite does not matter. Something changed between these two releases. It would be nice if someon...

Re: Issue #57 Hack a Dash Button

Hello, I have been using the dash button successfully..but when I upgraded to 4.9.24+ 993 scapy 2.3.3 I only get my mac address on the pi zero back .. the dash button OR my esp8266 mac address do not appear .. if I fall back to older image it works: the code i used to test is below: from scapy.all i...

Re: arduino wifi help

yes I have tried the 1.8.2 version ... it is great! no problem .. I was able to program my ESP8266 without problems once I figured out about the gpio pins. I was not able to use the install script that came with it .. so I just go into the directory and run arduino like you mentioned ...

Re: arduino wifi help

thanks for the response .. I was referring to when I do apt-get install arduino it installs 2.1.05? which does not have the board manager ... I did not see this version on the arduino site ... so I was inquiring about the reason for this version vs. the standard ones I see on the site.. i.e. 1.6x an...

Re: arduino wifi help

Is there a reason why the standard Arduino IDE that comes on the raspi desktop is v2.x and not the 1.8.x version with the board manager?? The v2.x IDE seems more limited.

I reconnected to USB1 and then I clicked on upload . it worked .. after load completed I took power off removed ground an...

esp8266 loading sketch from pi

Hello, I've been able to use the raspberry pi and the Arduino 1.8.2 code to load the Adafruit HuZZAH throught the usb connection with my sketch. Next I bought a much lower priced ESP8266 board without the usb connection and I am trying to load it with the usb to serial connection from the pi using a...

Cayenne security

Hello, I just installed the cayenne app on my iPad air2. Then I had it locate all the PIs on my local network. Then it asked if I wanted to install the agent software on the selected pi.. it did! How did that happen without me giving it an ID and password? Isn't that a security issue? I used the rem...
