Re: Aktion wenn sich Smartphone mit WiFi verbindet

add in further logic to check if its 'hometime' or an applicable time of the day to automatically open the door..

you could also use b/tooth instead, that way you could turn the feature on/off with B/tooth

Hi - just my take..
1) Yes certainly, but battery/solar requirements for a pi could be more expensive than for other options more suited to low power sleep/wake read and send/sleep cycles
2), 3) - sorry....
4) Now this is where the Pi should come into the project

Linux compatibility often only refers to linux installed on x86 compatible h/w, and may not be suitable for arm based architecture. however using the prefix of the driver download file you linked to for a google search i did find this: https://edimax.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/14000032...

Re: (Possibly pre-beginner!) Sensing simple closed circuit.

Sounds like a fun project to cut your teeth on. As said above, avoid mixing mains and diy electronics as far as possible.. IT CAN BE LETHAL. Quite a few options are open to you though, a light sensitive resistor as suggested above is one. A PIR (passive infra red) or similar motion detector inside t...

Re: Alexa Routine to publish MQTT to be picked up by RPi

For issuing basic 'Device_Name ON/OFF' type commands to stimulate Pi activity by Alexa/voice, I use Node-Red with the Alexa-local node. branching off a mqtt-publish node to publish any message would be a fairly trivial addition to any flow. a little creative thinking will let you create a set of ale...
