Re: CM3 Flashing on Windows 7 broken?

In our experience, flashing from Windows is very spotty. Almost never works from Windows 7 machines and sporadically works from Windows 10. When it does work from a Windows 10 laptop, then often it takes a shutdown/startup of the laptop to get it to work again. This is (always) using whatever the la...

CM3s that die

We are experiencing a small number of CM3 modules that seem to 'go haywire' somehow when being programmed and will exhibit progressively worsening symptoms: 1. HDMI output starts to fail 2. HDMI output ceases to function (composite seems to work) 3. HDMI can't fetch EDID information anymore (tvservi...

Re: CM3 Flashing on Windows 7 broken?

I've just given up on the windows version.. It's just more reliable to use the another Pi or a proper linux box.

Re: CM3 Udev rule

What would be ideal (I haven't looked at adding this yet) is if the rpiboot executable could use the device path from the udev environment.

Re: CM3 Udev rule

Yes, I can do that, but it is less deterministic and actually seems to work worse for detecting all the CM3.

CM3 Udev rule

My CM3-based device is going into production now and I'm working on a gang-programming setup. The hardware is dead simple, 3 "TARGET" CMIO boards and 1 "Host" CM3/CMIO board with raspbian-lite (stretch) on it. The "target" cmio are left powered off until loaded with CM3, then turned on. I'm using a ...

Re: Apt problem - ssh access to repository hangs

Now I've compared the InRelease files (found in 'var/lib/apt/lists' ) from two repositories: official raspbian and my own/ My repositories InRelease file ends up in the 'partial' directory with suffixed of 'FAILED' What I notice is the InRelease file is missing the beginning! It looks something like...

Apt problem - ssh access to repository hangs

I'm trying to set up a private repository for packages. I don't want to host over http and was pleasantly surprised to find that apt supports ssh also. The basics of the setup is a repository (using reprepro) on the host machine and connect over ssh from a Pi 3. My attempts from a Pi seem to get stu...

Re: Plymouth background disappears shortly into boot

(talking to myself) fun refresh_callback () { # (Normally)Currently we do nothing here bg_sprite = Sprite(resized_bg_image); bg_sprite.SetZ(-10000); } Plymouth.SetRefreshFunction (refresh_callback); Using this refresh_callback is another workaround. I think it's even a little better because somehow ...

Plymouth background disappears shortly into boot

Using a compute module (CM3) Raspbian stretch lite Plymouth I'm using Plymouth to create a splash screen with progress bar. Basically this with a little different background and colors - http://brej.org/blog/?p=174 PROBLEM: After a couple of seconds, the background disappears. The progress bar contin...

Re: CM3 Flashing on Windows 7 broken?

Hi, In order to reliably flash my CM3 modules I had my PC upgraded to Windows 10, then it seemed to work flawlessly. Unfortunately that PC is dead now and back for repairs. I'm stuck with windows 7 again and I was able to flash one CM3 but now I get the same problem over and over (can't detect the C...

CM3 Pricing and availability

I am working on a project uses the CM3. The pricing and availability is becoming a concern for me; many sources like Arrow and Digikey are listing the module for $50+ while other vendors (Newark) have sporadic availability with really long lead times. Are there better channels to purchase quantities...

Re: Flashing CM3 eMMC: how to mount partitions ?

By 'mounted normally' I think the author's intent is to say, you can now mount the filesystems and do what you want with them. As an example, from your host computer (Ubuntu) you might make mount points and then mount the partitions there to look at the contents: mkdir -p cm3/{fat, linux} sudo mount...

Re: CM3 Flashing on Windows 7 broken?

I'm wondering if the fact the compute module + carrier board is being detected as a 'Xbox One S Controller' is causing at least some of the problem - seems like a likely culprit. So now I've taken these steps: * uninstalled the pi boot * uninstalled the CM module from Windows Device Manager * Disabl...

CM3 Flashing on Windows 7 broken?

I'm following the instructions to flash a CM3 module here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/computemodule/cm-emmc-flashing.md I'm using: * Windows 7 * Pi CM3 * Pi compute developer board What I did: * put cm3 in carrier board * run installer * connect carrier to PC * apply power to...

Pi 3 Compute module 3D CAD or STEP

I am looking for 3d models for the Pi 3 compute module. Preferably solidworks, but STEP would be fine too.

Being new to Pi I'm not sure where to look for these. Google-fu has only turned up an old model of the original compute module.

Thanks
