thanks for the link,

would a hub stop working though if that was the case? I have used the gamepads and USB keyboard on it in the past.

ive checked with a thermal camera , and there is an IC labelled lps f3601 which is running hottest, right by a schotkky diode, it looks like it probably has something to do with the backlight, I will get a higher res (640x480) thermal shot to post later when I have more time, in the meantime I added...
