if your using xbmc your more than likely using hdmi audio, where the poor audio quality doesnt seem to be present (AFAIK).

Are there any plans on releasing a new ALSA driver in the near future?

I took the plunge anyway and bought the device.... If it's not fit for the pi, and it will get reused somewhere else so I'm not too fussed. As a windows guy primarily and my only use of Linux is installing packages on my unraid server I'm trying to get my head round the way sound is processed on a L...

@florca how do you find the sound quality from the UCA202 when used with the Pi? im finding sound through a generic USB sound card to be a little tinny and wondering if its worth the £22?

@ allactionrob, when your running chmod are you using the -R switch to push the permission change down to subfolders and files? you might have read access to the top level folder but no permissions to anything inside it. eg: chmod -R xxx (where xxx is the permission you want to push) Also, the -R is...
