Re: Need a Mono upgrade

I think you can build mono4 on RPi1 with mono 3.x from the official repos though, but other than that yes that's the way to get it done, takes hours though :)

Re: Need a Mono upgrade

Be careful when you read the replies to this topic, some applies to Raspberry Pi 1, some to 2+. The instructions are different and if you use the mono-project repo on your RPi1 then it will crash mono completely (illegal instruction exception). The only way to get mono on a RPi1 is to build it yours...

Re: Issues with Window Update to 10.0.10586.63

ok, I didn't actually look into the terms, I was just expressing that from my perspective I wouldn't do it on the free version. But since there are two paths it should be good for everybody. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Issues with Window Update to 10.0.10586.63

Obviously you wouldn't use the free version for a commercial product. To be honest I don't see what's obvious about that. There seems to be a whole lot of commercial products based on a free operating system today... But agreed that we are still fairly early on stability and feature set of this Win...

Re: Issues with Window Update to 10.0.10586.63

According to a Microsoft source the pro edition of Win10 IoT will let you control the windows updates, it's just for the free edition that you won't have the choice. Obviously you wouldn't use the free version for a commercial product. Also we're fairly early on the stability of the IoT platform, es...

Re: Issues with Window Update to 10.0.10586.63

I hate to post another "me too" message, but yes, something similar happened to me too. I got a RPi2 for WinIoT from Microsoft, and it works fine with the 10.0.10586.0 OS, but if I let it sit for a few hours it will say there's an update and I can do the reboot. Once I got the sad face (BSOD) after ...

Re: Need a Mono upgrade

Where have you found v.4.3.3 ? Seems the one stop shop script did not fail completely. Seems it build the core but not the libs and installed it to /usr/local/bin/mono while the version from the repository ended up in /usr/bin/mono . Meanwhile the mono from deb http://download.mono-project.com/repo...

Thanks for sharing. However I see you have wheezy in the apt path, is that a typo?

Re: Need a Mono upgrade

Mono 4.2 has just been pulled into the raspbian stretch-staging repositories from Debian. Hopefully it will migrate to the main raspbian stretch repo soon. If people could try it out and tell me how well it works for them so I can decide if it's worth trying to backport the packages to wheezy and/o...

Re: Need a Mono upgrade

It would be great to get mono 4.2.x on Raspberry Pi 1, there are some fixes in mono 4.2 that won't work with 4.0. Thanks!

I just tested this out on my RPi 1 and it worked really well, now I have latest mono 4 without having to compile it. Thanks a lot!

Re: Need a Mono upgrade

In my tests I couldn't use the debian packages for mono 3.12.x on Pi1 because they were built for armv7, and RasPi1 is armv6. It seems our only options at this point are A. use the 3.10 that someone built, or B. build from source (MANY hours).

Re: Python Sound Sampler with Pygame.Mixer

I noticed you initialize the mixer with 3 channels (since you're playing 3 sounds). But according to the documentation (http://www.pygame.org/docs/ref/mixer.html#pygame.mixer.init) this is how many output channels you want (1 for mono, 2 for stereo) and only values 1 and 2 are supported. The default...

Re: Can the .Net Micro Framework run on the RPi

Is that a start of porting the .NET Micro Framework to RPi, or something else? I couldn't tell from the source code on github.
