Re: SEPIA open source voice-assistant

Great idea. I hate being hamstrung by Google/Alexa's rate limits as well as the uneasiness that "they" have all our data. I'll be checking this out more in the next week, and I'll leave comments here. One point of documentation/getting started feedback: make an obvious summary flow for RPi...

Re: host camera module mjpeg output on remote server?

In case anyone needs this...two things: Cloud-based web server, I use AWS EC2, that runs a web server [Apache in my case] and has two virtual hosts - one for the web and one for the stream. These are very basic, do not overthink it. Remember to reload the webserver after creating the virtual host fi...

Re: Can we use Ramme on Raspbian

Found a workaround: Run Chromium in Incognito [i.e. SHIFT-CTRL-N] - normal Chromium will not work for some reason Run Developer Tools [SHIFT-CTRL-I] Run Mobile Tools [SHIFT-CTRL-M] Use xdotools mousemove for the following: Tap + [i.e. create new post] Select Image Tap Open Tap Next Enter Caption Tap...

Re: Can we use Ramme on Raspbian

I am also looking for this if anyone has it. Would be great to use RPi as a web cam, then post to Instagram directly. I've tried compiling the code for a few hours, but it's over my head. Any help would be great. All code: https://github.com/terkelg/ramme/releases Source code: https://github.com/ter...

Re: EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p2): __ext4_journal_start_s

I just spent a half day figuring this out. First, make sure that /boot/config.txt has max_usb_current=1 at the top...that was not the root cause for me though. I was using hostapd with the onboard wlan0 set as an ap with no Ethernet connection. That is, the onboard wlan0 acted as the internet gatewa...

Re: USB Sound card freeze the usb devices

My RPi is full of USB devices, and after a fresh re-build I currently experienced the same issue you have noted. The issue was not specific to the sound card, but manifested itself much more pronounced [i.e. no sound] than the other USB devices which were used for 1. probe requests 2. making a hotsp...

Re: WiFi Hotspot with no internet connection

This is a year old, but I will propose very simple solution: Set up BATMAN-ADV on RPis and use private IPs via router behind all server nodes. Use any router/server behind the server nodes to allow private IP addresses to be assigned to the client nodes [and, obviously, the server nodes]. On the ser...
