Re: Citrix Receiver on RPi3 - Issues

An update: I have it basically working now and I can connect to desktops and apps - feels kinda strange to see a WinServer2016 running fluently on the Raspi display  . There were some issues with the certificates that I needed to copy over from FF to the CTX receiver and some settings on Mart...

Re: Hook script for USB register and/or eth0 disappear

/etc/ is not the place for an executable, be it a helper script. I actually know that ... I've just put it there together with the rules for easy dev/maintenance Did you try running "/etc/udev/rules.d/detach.sh /home/pi/MyScript.sh start"? Yes. The following works: [email protected]:~$ sudo /etc...

Re: Hook script for USB register and/or eth0 disappear

Installed at.
However, seems I can not use it. MyScript.sh is a bash script and at uses sh to execute. Tried to work around ... to no avail.

Code: Select all

RUN+="/etc/udev/rules.d/detach.sh /home/pi/MyScript.sh start"

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
# Filename: /etc/udev/rules.d/detach.sh
echo "bash [email protected]" | at now

Re: Hook script for USB register and/or eth0 disappear

.. seems I'm missing 'at' at is pretty old school, it is not available by default on Raspbian. You can "apt-get" it. Or cook you own way of detaching the process properly. I stick with "at now" because it does the job, but there has to be other ways. apt-get tried to install a lot of other things t...

Re: Hook script for USB register and/or eth0 disappear

Thank you guys.
The version to directly call my script works.
My script needs a few seconds. To be on the safe side I tried the 'detached' solution as well. However, I don't get this to run.

.. seems I'm missing 'at'

That's usually called a udev rule I think.
Tried to create a rule to catch the register of the eth0 on USB ... no avail so far :(

ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idProduct}=="ec00", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0424", RUN+="~/myScript.sh start"

Any hint ?

Re: Hook script for USB register and/or eth0 disappear

There are some scripts in "/etc/network/if-down.d" or "/etc/network/if-post-down.d" that might have similar functions to what you require. I tried to use the if-up.d hook. It works upon boot. However, if the interface if disappearing and reappearing (message in my OP) it seems not to trigger this h...

Re: Reprogramming the ethernet chip lan9512

I'd like to pick this up again. I need to reprogram the EEPROM attached to the LAN9514. There are two options for this: the ethtool (limited functionality) and the smsc/Microchip supplied cmd9500. So, i downloaded the latest driver package from Microchip to get the cmd9500, built it, and guess what ...

USB stick slow, only when booted of it

Hi, I have a strange issue. The RPi3 (CM3 light) is running Stretch from uSD card. When I attach an Kingston DataTraveler SE9 32GB USB sticks and quickly measure the read speed with hdparm -t I get about 20MB which is fine - It's about similar to the value of another brand USB memory I have availabl...

FYI, as of Ubuntu MATE 16.04.2 (Xenial) this done already, you just need to set the outputs.
Not on Raspbian. See this thread: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=142905
Unfortunately, no-one at Videolan seems to show any interest in this issue.

Re: i2cset - exit code / return values in case of errors

I already did that, as you can see when you fully read my post.
However, to my surprise, I always receive 0 as exit code.
That is why I need to catch the line Error: Write failed that is written back to the console

i2cset - exit code / return values in case of errors

Hi I'm using i2cset in a bash script - works as expected. However, sometimes the write fails (I'm 'behind' the why ... should not be the topic here though) I found that i2cset always returns 0 , even on a write fail, and then adds a line to the console Error: Write failed According the source code i...

Yes, I could do it in C as well, maybe even easier. However, for this project we try to stay within bash scripts.
Thanks again :D
