Re: HDMI Audio Drops Out Periodically

For me, none of the recommended solutions to the HDMI audio drop-out problem worked. My problem went away completely when I overclocked my Raspberry Pi 2, running OSMC. I kept the CPU unchanged, but I increased the GPU/RAM both to 500 MHz, and upped the voltage by "2" (which worked with the white Ra...

Re: Exit Fix for Kodi Raspbian built

To fix the "black-screen" when exiting Kodi, just install console-tools to get the fgconsole and chvt.. Atleast that worked for me, and I also removed the sudo from the kodi-standalone script! : : ...Kodi 14.2.1 exists nice everytime here now Hi! I've tried all solutions is these the definitive? Al...

Is it possible to cross-compile to different targets on same

While not new to programming, I am a noob to Linux development, and to cross-compiling. What I want to do is write and compile on an Ubuntu 14.04 machine, and target some of my software to Raspberry Pi (all versions), and other software to Android Lollipop. All the articles I've seen on cross-compil...

How can I read a NOOBS SD card in an Ubuntu PC?

I have two SD cards. One was created using the original Raspbian-only way. The newer one I set up today with all the possible OSs using NOOBS. When I insert the old one into my Ubuntu PC's SD card reader, it automatically detects a boot partition, and the Raspbian partition. When I insert the new on...

Re: GStreamer 1.0

Thanks. I compiled the latest ffmpeg, and it did work for me in a brief test with this command line: sudo ffmpeg -f fbdev -r 20 -i /dev/fb0 this_test.mpg I had heard that compiling ffmpeg might take overnight on a Raspberry Pi, but mine seemed to complete in only a few hours (or sooner... I left and...

Re: Pretty boot

I found a partial solution to my problem based on the previous solution. It's not quite as involved, but it gets the job done. I suspect modifying the rcS file may not be a wise thing to do, but it works for me. Of course I start with the "quiet" keyword in /boot/cmdline.txt which eliminates the fir...

Change console font to DejaVu

I want to use DejaVu Sans Mono as the console font for my Raspberry Pi, as I will not be using a mouse or windows, and this font appears to have some of the characters (e.g. checkmark) that other console fonts are missing. I used the following command to get the font, and it seemed to work (i.e. the...

Re: Pretty boot

I wonder if anyone has a solution for this, while continuing to use the console. I'm not using any windowing system on my Raspberry Pi. fbi seems to show the splash image, but then returns to the same ugly init text that I'm trying to protect users from. If I use trailing "&", in an attempt to conti...

Re: GStreamer 1.0

Were you able to find a solution to the pixel format problem with avconv/ffmpeg?

I was hoping to be able to use a slow frame rate to record a video of the screen, for use in testing. But I run into the same error you reported.

Re: How can I read Shift+Tab in curses?

Thank you both for your answers. I agree that it is a bug. While it makes sense for some keys to be un-modifiable, Tab is not among them, with Shift+Tab and Ctrl+Tab (and Alt+Tab, which does work by sending a pair of characters instead of just one) being common modifications in other more-popular OS...

How can I read Shift+Tab in curses?

In short, I'm finding it impossible to capture a simple Shift+Tab on the keyboard, so I can back up to the previous field in my program. It interprets it as a regular Tab. Keyboard: a basic Dell keyboard, US layout, nothing extra. This matches how it is set up in raspi-config. Why I am using curses:...

Printing

I volunteer in a waiting room. I'm considering the Raspberry Pi as a way to simplify what we do. Currently we take information about people waiting, and post that in a handwritten note on a board inside the office. The problems are that sometimes the handwriting is bad, and sometimes we don't know i...
