Re: Mathematica performance on raspi3 vs raspi4

The score of 0.18 is three times faster than your score of 0.06 for the Pi 3B. Thanks for the measurement! 2x faster than supersupersuperslow is supersuperslow 3x faster than supersupersuperslow is superslow So it's still superslow :P In comparison, on my 10yr old budget PC hardware (originally des...

Mathematica performance on raspi3 vs raspi4

So to anyone with raspi4 and Mma 11.x or Mma 12.0, with Stretch or Buster: How fast does the Mma software perform on the new hardware? Could you try the following on the raspi4 please? - launch the Mma software, then open a new Mma notebook (blank white window/page) and enter the following two lines...

Re: Ultra-thin Aluminum Alloy CNC Case for Pi 3 Model B/2B

i cannot answer your question and i am also not interested in 3B+ (because it demands more power and does have an altered make spec), i am happy enough with my 3B in this alu case. there is a more detailed thread on the case on CPF the flashlight forum lol. :geek: Looking at photos of the 3B+ make, ...

Re: Shorting GPIO pins - harmful?

Thanks for the detailed answer. I am beginner, so let's assume that the Pi3 has a fresh installation of Raspbian Stretch with nothing further. We do a sudo update&upgrade and reboot. Once the Pi3 has booted, i don't know which state those two GPIO pins have. What would your guess be? Any harm when s...

Shorting GPIO pins - harmful?

What happens to the Pi3 (OS and or hardware), if one short-circuits pin 35 and 36, i.e. GPIO 19 and 16?

Does anyone have experience with this https://abload.de/img/img20170719123253m1sj7.jpg Hello, i've got that BG serial board. As soon as the raspi is powered, the green LED on the BG serial board lights up. I am on the latest Raspbian Jessie, and i deleted the serial-console entry; things seem to lo...

Oki, i followed the instructions from the OP and my challenging big video file is playing now as video overlay on the HDMI monitor . Re: Tutorial: Compile VLC with HW acceleration - Jessie, RPi

Just wondering, do i need to perform the instructions from the OP? i installed Synaptic Package Manager and can see seven(7) 'VLC entries' with " Installed Version: 2.2.6-1~deb8u1 ". so i do "Mark for Removal", not "Mark for Complete Removal", yes? My point is, i have the latest Raspbian , and VLC P...

A quick follow-up, sharing some experience/info from a beginner's POV: FileZilla might work for our purposes but it does not support WinXP . My Win test machine is a XP machine. (Btw the Win32/64 VNC Viewer application, which could be used for convenient file transfer too, does not support WinXP eit...

You mean the untouched original file interfaces.conf? Restoring a backup copy of it?

Difficult to make backup copies (of which files) in the first place. "Permission denied" error when I try to open or copy the *.conf files.

I ended up reinstalling NOOBS

How connect to raspi through a Win FTP client?

Has NE1 successfully transferred files from/to Raspberry Pi 3 through a FTP client on the Windows laptop? In my WinFTP client i entered "22" as port, "192.168.178.**" as host address (as shown by VNC Server GUI), "Secure SFTP via SSH (Port 22)" as connection type, "**" as user name, "****" as passwo...

I can see that on this forum or probably anywhere else there is little interest in 'Mma on Pi'. When i learned the language, Mma was available on full PC's only and on the go one had to resort to handheld TI calculators, apart from bulky laptops back then. I wouldn't carry a laptop, only to have som...
