Re: Measuring distance using 2 ultrasonic

Two while true: Had a quick look, obvious white space issues but that could be just be a cut paste bug. Don't think it will get to second while true loop because it will stay in the first while loop. so what should i do? can you help me to get this code work? i really appreciate your answer, i'm a ...

Measuring distance using 2 ultrasonic

hello, i am a newbe with raspi or python. so i have a project to measuring distance with two ultrasonic sensor. i've try with one sensor and it works. i try to write the script with two sensor and it's not work. i know the problem coming from my code. so i need a help to fix my problem please. what'...

Re: measuring wind speed using hall effect

I think joan's example code for checking RPM looks to be quite good, but I had a PM from the OP about how to modify their code to account for stopping. This just adds a check in the calculate_speed() function that if it sees no pulses have happened and if so then update elapse. This will bring the ...

i've tried the code and i get a normal result overall. but reading can't back to 0 if rotation get stopped. how did it happen?

Re: measuring wind speed using hall effect

thankyou, it works, i get a floating number... but, if the rotation get increase it will show normal reading, it means the edge was detect right? it's just can't get back to 0 rpm if there is no rotation. oke, i'm sorry, my bad. Possibly add a test to see how long since the last reading and over a ...

Re: measuring wind speed using hall effect

hello, i want to ask about the problems of my code(internet source actually). first, overall the code can work normally, the problem is the result doesn't show a floating number. it's just like 1, 2, 3 m/s, with the result that i can't read detail of wind speed. last question is the result that sho...

Re: measuring wind speed using optocoupler sensor (anemomete

Yes. client code: self.client.connect(("localhost", port)) server code: self.skt.bind(("127.0.0.1", self.port)) thanks before dougie, but in my project i dont use a local host. my project is just read wind speed and display it to terminal emulator pi. it is too complicated for me. do you have a sim...

Re: measuring wind speed using optocoupler sensor (anemomete

https://github.com/raspberrypi/weather-station/blob/master/interrupt_daemon.py https://github.com/raspberrypi/weather-station/blob/master/interrupt_client.py The daemon counts ticks on GPIO05 with a 9cm anemometer which I think does two ticks per revolution. The client program gets the data from th...

You don't need any code to use the opto coupler just connect the output pulse to the code that Dougie linked to above and modify the code as required.

which one the link code that i must use to my project pete?

Re: measuring wind speed using optocoupler sensor (anemomete

Can you post a link to the data sheet for this item, it looks quite interesting. An optocoupler is essentially an electronic reed switch probably driven by a coded disk of some kind. If the output is a series of pulses then it will just mean a slight modification of the Python script used for the R...

my plan is fixed position, so the ultra sonic read the highest wave first, then read the lowest wave, then calculating the wave.. but i confused to write the script, could you please help me..

Re: help

If it is the red LED that is blinking, that indicates a low voltage condition. It could be either your power supply (it cannot deliver enough current at full voltage so the load drags the voltage down) or the cable linking the power supply to the Pi has wires that are too long and/or thin and the v...

Re: help

Is your Pi the same as your friend's? - are they both 3B? What operating system have you and your friend got on your sd-cards? It's possible you have an out-of-date system on your card. One thing you could try - swap your sd-card with your friend's card, and see if your's now boots, and if his does...
