Re: Raspbmc lose network connectivity after some days

Does the connectivity return after a reboot, or do you have to reinstall everything to get things back again?

Re: Teamviewer Raspberry Pi

Do you need to run any web services on the Pi? I'm guessing not, given that Teamviewer normally uses ports 80 & 443... Why not configure iptables on your pi to forward requests on 80/443 to whatever port you're running your VNC listener on? It won't get you teamviewer, but it will at least remove th...

Re: 110v (Mains) RasPi Server

Thanks for that. I have a plug enclosure that I want to use, so I'll essentially be turning it into a guruplug-style device. Is there any chance you could stick a slightly larger version of your picture up? I think I understand what you've done, but I'm an infrequent solder-er and I'd like to get th...

Re: 110v (Mains) RasPi Server

Hi Richard,

That's a great job. I've been trying to achieve something similar myself. Could you let me know how you managed to remove the USB ports from the board please?

Thanks!

Re: Nas Problems :(

Unless you're serving files to Windows boxes that don't support it (such as Win7 home), you might want to consider using NFS instead of Samba as it seems to get better throughput. If you can't write to the shares, I'd check your smb.conf file located in /etc/samba. Do the shares that are configured ...

iptables help

I've configured one of my Pi's as a Tor proxy as-per the Adafruit tutorial here . I've made a couple of amendments to connect it to my laptop via the wired connection, but nothing significant, and all works well. Because I don't want to leave my Pi setup as a router permanently, I've created a bash ...

Re: Removing/Desoldering Components - Any Gotchas?

Thanks for that. The removal of the RCA/Audio is more important than being able to shift the ethernet and USB. I need to be able to remove the RCA & audio to fit the Pi inside the enclosure. I can probably workaround my want to shift the other ports once I've had a chance to think about it in greate...

Re: Removing/Desoldering Components - Any Gotchas?

Thanks for that. Would there be any way of getting someone more capable to do it for me in that case? I'm keen to get this done if I can, but don't mind if it means getting additional help. Is there such a thing a thing as "professional soldering services", and would they consider such a (relatively...

Removing/Desoldering Components - Any Gotchas?

Hi, posted this in Beginners as I am a definite beginner to soldering, but please feel free to move if it fits better elsewhere... I'm working on a semi-custom enclosure for my Pi, based on a plug enclosure that I've found online, similar to a Sheevaplug. The problem is that the enclosure is slightl...

Re: Case incorporating AdaFruit 16x2 LCD Plate

Appreciate that I'm quite late to this conversation, but I'd be interested in one of these. What about incorporating a cutout into the case to allow button access, rather than trying to extend the buttons? Something like this: http://thingiverse-production.s3.amazonaws.com/renders/31/a1/aa/a6/b2/IMG...

Sheevaplug Style Integrated Power Supply - Possible??

I've been mulling over this for quite a while now, but I'm struggling to work out if it would be possible or not. I think I probably lack the ability to make this work, but I can't find sufficient resource. What I'd like to try and do, is to create a new case that can be connected direct into the ma...

Re: Hidden/Sneaky Cases

Hide one in a PoE adapter: http://static.trustedreviews.com/e73168%7Cf5fd_3983-IMG8879s.jpg The PwnPlug comes with a kit to make it look like some kind of air freshener, or power monitoring equipment. Alternatively, what about "hiding in plain sight"? Add an LCD screen, with some arbitrary power-lik...

Mount Pi in Plug - Possible?

I'm in no way savvy on the electronics side of things, but I was thinking on this the other day whilst I've been waiting for my Pi to arrive, and I was wondering if there's any real reason why a case couldn't be made to directly connect to, and supply power from, a regular power socket in the style ...
