Re: Where can I browse the package repo for raspbian?

Thanks for the replies, all. I am not actually running raspbian but I would like to download and inspect the kodi (v18) packages to see how the devs are starting it/systemd units and other files. I web interface or direct link to the .deb files would be all I want.

Where to insert a kernel boot parameter for RPi3?

Recently, systemd has been spamming dmesg with lines from the required audit package. On x86_64, one can simply boot with the following kernel parameter audit=0 to silence this. Where can one set this on the RPi3? On Arch ARM, there is /boot/config.txt wherein I appended it what looks like a kernel ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ experiencing tons of kernel oops when compiling over NFS

An easy way to trigger this bug (if you don't want to try compiling the kernel package) is to simply use `dd` to write out from `/dev/zero` to the NFS mount. For example on my RPi3 B+: # mount ease:/scratch /scratch-nfs % dd if=/dev/zero of=/scratch-nfs/fill bs=4M count=1000 status=progress 96468992...

Yes, the system is up-to-date. I compiled 4.14.31 myself (distro is currently on 4.14.30). Raspberry Pi 3 B+ experiencing tons of kernel oops when compiling over NFS

I have a RPi 3B+ running Arch ARM (armv7h). When I try compiling the kernel package, I am finding dmesg full of kernel oops like the below. The compilation eventually just freezes up but the system itself is responsive. When I monitor the temps on the 3B+, they don't exceed 72C so I don't think it's...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.14

Update with: sudo rpi-update and reboot. Ideally nothing much will change. Please report if there are any regressions compared to the 4.9 kernel. I just flashed XBian_Latest_rpi3.img and am booted into xbian on my RPi3. It's running 4.9.87+. Which package provides the script you reference above?

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B Plus cannot use bridge networking (systemd-networkd)... bug?

The 3B+ requires new firmware particularly regarding networking and power, your 64bit OS may have not caught up yet. The firmware package was updated 2 days ago . I think it's in sync with upstream. Also, I am not running the 64-bit version (called aarch64), it is the 32-bit version (called armv7h).

Stick with the 3B until Arch updates itself to the nuances of the 3B+
Are you thinking of a specific package that needs to be updated or is your advice of a general nature? Arch is pretty "fresh" with regard to upstream versions.

See my config files above. I am not actually connecting anything to the bridge at the point of the error (I do this later with a linux container).

Re: Occasionally kernel panic on reboot

Googling this, it does seem like others are experiencing it. Some suggest that the SD card (media) is to blame. To test that, I swapped out the micro SD card from a RPi3 I have that has never experienced the issue into the one I posted about. I can say that it did give another panic with the media f...

The linker already is telling how to fix the error! Just follow its advice. Add -fPIC to CFLAGS _and_ CXXFLAGS either globally or only to the failing packages, your choice. Thanks for the reply. I have them appended to the global CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS but I still get the same error. If I compile without ...

Network port of RPi3 just goes dead

For no reason that I can determine, my RPi3 experiences network failures at random times. It is running Arch ARM and the linux-raspberrypi kernel (4.9.39 currently). Symptoms include no lights on the onboard LAN (no yellow and no green). The only way to recover is a manual power cycle. I found a sim...
