Raspberry Pi 4 Case For Sale

I've got one of my Raspberry Pi 4 cases for sale on e-bay : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153584782024?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649. FYI - I've changed this to an auction style sale starting @ £4.95. It's been used once to take the photograph for e-bay (two of the pieces have had...

New Raspberry Pi 4 Cases

Hi All, It's been a long time (over 5 years) since I last designed the Multi-pi stacking case and with having two new Raspberry Pi 4's I decided to break out my design skills once again... So please let me introduce my brand new Raspberry Pi 4 cases (see attached images). They've got lots of air ven...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

One last update for the day - I've managed to work around this problem by plugging in a usb ethernet adaptor and I've now got a stable network connection that survives shutdowns and reboots every time. This, I believe points to either a driver/firmware issue, or in the worse case a faulty on-board n...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

I've set a static IP via the router (and changed dhcpcd.conf accordingly) and though the network connection appears to survive a reboot it needs me to run 'sudo mii-tool -r eth0' (several times) before I can get a working network if I power the rpi up from a shutdown.

Just re-ran 'sudo mii-tool -r eth0' on the Pi4 (locally) and the results are as follow sudo systemctl status dhcpcd Jun 29 19:55:43 raspberrypi4 dhcpcd[472]: eth0: carrier lost Jun 29 19:55:43 raspberrypi4 dhcpcd[472]: eth0: deleting route to 192.168.1.0/24 Jun 29 19:55:43 raspb...

Another update...

Several successful reboots via ssh and then no connection to the Pi4 but I can still ping it...

Curious indeed...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

@incognitum

I didn't notice the time taken - interesting.

I'm in the process of rebooting the Pi4 remotely and will see if the dhcp tweak helps things.

I'll post the results of my tests.

Re: Pi4 Network issues

@pcmanbob Turns out my router was dishing out IP addresses (192.168.1.65 - 192.168.1.253) that clashed with the static IP address (192.168.1.100) so I've changed the dhcp range to 192.168.1.200 - 192.168.1.253. I've got quite a few RPi's with static IP's that were in the original dhcp range that hav...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

Yep - setting static IP from dhcpcd.conf and here's the output from the command : sudo systemctl status dhcpcd Warning: The unit file, source configuration file or drop-ins of dhcpcd.service changed on disk. Run 'systemctl daemon-reload' to reload units. * dhcpcd.service - dhcpcd on all interfaces L...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

This is a weird problem because I ssh'd into the Pi4 and rebooted it 10 times and the network worked as expected, but the 11th time resulted in no outgoing or incoming connection - however I could ping the Pi4 from my Chromebook but couldn't ssh into it. Tried 'sudo mii-tool -r eth0' to no avail - p...

Re: Pi4 Network issues

Spoke too soon - same problem (After several successful restarts) couldn't connect to the the network until I rebooted another two times..

I still think this could be software/firmware issue but I could be wrong, any other ideas to the cause of this problem?

Pi4 Network issues

Hi, I'm running my 2GB Pi4 running buster desktop and I've come across an issue where I (seemingly randomly) cannot connect to my network using the ethernet port when I boot (or reboot) the Pi. When this happens I can't ping any of my local network (even the router), eth0 (I can't use wlan0 as the w...

Re: Pi 4 not booting

I had a similar issue this morning (booting off a 32gb SD card with Buster desktop on it, not NOOBS) - powered up got the rainbow screen and then the monitor went blank (no display signal), however this was using HDMI 1, when I swapped over to HDMI 0 everything went as expected.

Cheers

Re: Missing 'hdparm' package

It's a bit weird since I already did a apt-update and a apt-get upgrade which updated the kernel and several other packages...

Well you live and learn :)
