Re: Call for review: fixing OpenVG wrapper library reliabili

Looks like there is an existing bug: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/943
Anyone care to comment on this bug with a pointer to a reproducer?

Re: Call for review: fixing OpenVG wrapper library reliabili

Perhaps I should file an official bug against the Raspi kernel/firmware repo.
Is there an existing bug for this issue?

Call for review: fixing OpenVG wrapper library reliability

This note is a call for review by Raspberry Pi OpenVG, and EGL experts to try to track reliability bugs in my OpenVG library: https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg Some users of the library have reported crashes and hangs especially under load where graphics shapes are created repeatedly, or during lon...

Re: why initWindowSize, why init, and why Start ?

Note that init and Start were original functions in my OpenVG wrapper. init() was designed to initialize the low-level graphics environment, and is only meant to be called once, returning the dimensions of the screen. init is to be paired with finish(), which shuts down the graphics environment, aga...

Smart-mirror display program

Written with the OpenVG library, twh (time, weather, headlines) is a program to display information as seen in "My Bathroom Mirror Is Smarter Than Yours" https://medium.com/@maxbraun/my-bathroom-mirror-is-smarter-than-yours-94b21c6671ba#.g4wpqfydx Here is a screenshot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/...

Re: OpenVG program crashes randoml, code or faulty unit?

Can you try running your program without any text display?
I'm wondering if that is where the problem is.

Also, is the code available so that I can reproduce the bug?

Re: openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Yes, Paeryn's suggestion worked, Thanks again. What is the ' chars.c ' file in the openvg/client folder? Is it one of the demos? If we build and try to run it, it seems to have a bug : [email protected]:~/openvg/client$ ./chars Segmentation fault (core dumped) [email protected]:~/openvg/client$ Also It s...

Re: OpenVG library updates

I have opened two issues on github related to the library updates:

#41 - to track the recent changes from Paeryn https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg/issues/41
#42 - to track changes in font handling. https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg/issues/42

Re: openvg (Paeryn, ajstarks)

what's actually sort of strange: when I'm writing different numbers to the same (x,y) position (for a quicly changing table chart) all numbers are written one over the other - so the old numbers are not cleared when writing new ones after that and so it makes everything unreadable. But clearing the...

Thanks for the report, I just pushed a fix.
It would be helpful in the future to report things like this as a bug on github.

picshow: a picture viewer using OpenVG

picshow shows a series of images on the Raspberry Pi screen. (X is not required) You can specify the background color, the time delay between images, and whether the slide show loops: usage: picshow [ flags ] images... -bg string Background color (named color or rgb(r,g,b)). (default "black") -delay...

Re: splash - a tool to make splash screens

Currently the source is at: https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg/blob ... /splash.go (I can do a C version if there is demand). And yes, it can be built to place it anywhere (probably with a command line flag).

splash - a tool to make splash screens

As suggested by Mike Kazantsev, The OpenVG library now includes "splash" a small utility to make "splash screens". Here is the usage: usage: splash [ flags ] image-path Set specified image as an overlay screen via OpenVG lib. Default is to put this image to the center. -bg string Background color (n...

Re: HDMI graphic lib: openvg syntax questions

I understand your affinity for simple programming environments. I'm a fan of environments like Processing (http://processing.org) For doing graphics programming on the web there is SVGo with svgplay: (https://github.com/ajstarks/svgo) See the Graphics Sketching with SVGo and svgplay section of the R...

Re: HDMI graphic lib: openvg syntax questions

@devnull: you may be interested in the Go version of the OpenVG library. It contains some of the features you have requested (like named colors), and offers a different programming workflow than C. (as has been stated, the conventional method is to use Makefiles for C development.) In Go you just: s...
