that worked. the light is on!!!! I turned off the wifi connection and after 3 min it went off. also had jumper to pin 18 not gpio 18 thank you very much for the help. I know you said earlier what to change to make it go off after 2 min but is there away to make it go off right away or seconds after ...

now when i enter

to test i get this

sh: echo: I/O error
0 network up
got the led jumped to pin 18 and ground because thats what you had in your example

chmod: changing permissions of ‘/home/pi/scripts/wifi_led.sh’: Operation not permitted

Saved same place and file name but bash now.
/home/pi/scripts/wifi_led.sh

I just used your script example. I don't know if it self loops
I want it to stay on at all times when Connected to a network

time format

I connected at 16x2 lcd to display time but it only shows time in 24hr format and i want 12 hr format. Any idea how i can change the pi's time format?

Yeah I'm lost. Think I need to find a step by step tutorial. I appreciate the help but I'm very new to all this. I don't have any knowledge in coding and stuff. I don't expect you guys to make a tutorial for me. I will try to research this some more

Ok. I think I have the coding down. Now if I find a 3v led but the gpio is sending 3.3v I need a resistor correct? What size resistor?
