When I try to install it again, it says this at the end: Running command: sudo apt upgrade -y E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Reso...

Re: Accessing Pi from outside network

The public IP that the on-line port scanner shows the current IP which you need to use. The port to use is whatever port you configured in your router. The default for HTTP is 80 but you could have configured something different. On the local side if you did not configure the RPi for static IP then...

Re: Accessing Pi from outside network

Maybe your public IP and/or your local IP has changed. Many ISP's block ports so that their customers can't run web servers and such. Try an on-line port scan tool to see if your port(s) are still open: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scan/ Do I leave the ip as default? If so, it says it isnt r...

Re: Issues installing RTC on Rpi3

Ok, I'm pretty sure I found the issue. The power supply for the PI is in my basement. When I turned off the wifi, I had the Pi upstairs plugged into my tv via hdmi and the power supply was my Android phone charger. I just happened to look at the power output of the charger, and it was too low. So I ...

After it was all setup, I disconnected from wifi, rebooted the pi, and now when it started, the time is 6PM. Its 1:26pm right now real time. So, obviously it isn't working.

Would a wifi extender help?

Hello, I'm very new to the whole Rpi thing. I purchased a Rpi3 B to link with a brewing controller. It will live in the basement of my home, and hopefully connect via wifi to my home network. I was looking into purchasing a range extender, then I came across plans to build my own. I don't really kno...

Which pins to use

Hello all, I just recently got my RaspberryPi 3 B. Im using it tied with a brewpi spark v2 for fermentation temperature control for brewing beer. I am extremely wet behind the ears with all this stuff, so bare with me. I bought a case for my Rpi and it came with a little fan to keep the rpi cool. I ...
