Re: Anti-theft system

Hi. A socket connection is basically a full duplex connection initiated by the klient. The client (your PI) connects to a socket server at startup and then the connection stays open, unless it is interrupted. But then you reconnect... This gives you more real-time reaction when you enable/disable. R...

Re: Anti-theft system

Hi. Nice work. 1. One idea is to let your PI connect to a remote socket server. But that requires a remote webserver. 2. If you can't setup a remote socket server you can use an ordinary webserver and let your pi connect to your webserver every 1-5 second to look for enable/disable status. Then you ...

Re: Max frequency onboard?

Okay.

But there are no prescaler so the 700-930MHz is the actual frequency inside the ARM.

Max frequency onboard?

Hello. We are about to do some tests in lab regarding CE certification on a expansionboard for the Pi and testlab personel asked me what the max frequency they can find internaly on the Pi? Highest frequency including after prescaler. I think it is 700MHz but do anybody know if there are any multipl...

Re: Create Alarm sensing unit when Wire is cut

Hi.

You probobly have to take care of the EMI aspects because you are having a 300m loop antenna connected.

Perhaps you can use a optocoupler with a TVR and some ferrites to protect your Pi and optocoupler from failure.

Re: using an optocoupler to trigger a remote

Hi.

You really need some current limiting resistors on both sides.

You can find a typical optocoupler connection in the schematics of exboard at: http://www.expansionboard.org/wp-conten ... 130401.pdf on page 8.

Re: Clock and Data card reader

Yes, D+ and D- sound like USB but Clock And Data is not USB.

Clock And Data is a common protocol for Prox anf Magstripe readers. One Clock signal and one data signal. Normally with TTL levels.

Re: Clock and Data card reader

You probobly need a levelshifter of some kind because raspberry only talk 3.3V.

Read the manual for your proxy reader but I guess it is 5V and that will kill your Pi.

New IO board for dooraccess system

Hi. We are planning on releasing a IO-board with a Atmega2560 onboard and mountingholes and gpio-contact for a Raspberry Pi. It has 4 RS232, 1 RS485/422, 8 digital input and 4 relay outputs. A optimal solution if you want to build your own dorraccess system och some kind of a controller for building...

Re: DoorAccessControl

Hello everybody.

I have a litle update of my expansionboard. At this point I have all the Schematics and PCB routing ready and I am thinking of order a first batch of manufactured pcb's.

You can find information about the expansionboard on http://www.expansionboard.org

Hello Joseph Mathew. I downloaded pySerial #sudo apt-get install pySerial Then I put this in the header import serial And then I use it with: ser = serial.Serial( port = lines[x], baudrate = 57600, parity=serial.PARITY_NONE, stopbits=serial.STOPBITS_ONE, bytesize=serial.EIGHTBITS, timeout=0.2 ) ser....

Re: DoorAccessControl

Hello danneman, Did you make some progress on this project? I'm realy interested! Hi. Yes, a lot of progress. I made a python application that connects to a USB/RS485 cable and talks to a set of my relaycards. I implemented a modified ModBus protocol and in the bottom of all there is a MySQL databa...

Re: SSH won't start - error running do_ssh

Hi.

I do also have these problems. I had an error at rasp-config when I should enable SSH but I can't remember the error message:cry: I thought I could fix it myself later on but there is no /boot/boot_enable_ssh.rc to use?

does anybody got ssh to work with the new 2012-07-15 image?

DoorAccessControl

Hi there. I just want to share my project I have been doing for a month since I got my Rpi. Together with an Arduinoplatform this can be used as an access control for your home/garage/office etc. Anything that can be controled by a relay (Im planning on putting this on my officedoor). The Pi is the ...
