The symptom was that it appear to be connecting but freezes after I type the correct password.

Re: [RPi3] SSH not working via wifi

My ssh to/from RPi3 vai on-board WiFi seems solved. Apologies for having missed seeing the following post earlier in this thread: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1085534#p1085534 The only differences in what I did and this post are: 1. The "IPQoS 0x00" string had to be added in /e...

Re: [RPi3] SSH not working via wifi

Turns out that I can login from one laptop to another (both running RHEL6) within the home network. So: 1. I can ssh from RPi3 to a machine outside the home network. 2. I can't ssh to or from RPi3 from within the network. 3. I can ssh between two other RHEL6 laptops within the network. By process of...

Re: [RPi3] SSH not working via wifi

I have the same problem: ssh to or from RPi3, connected to my modem-router via on-board WiFi, does not work. After reading this entire thread and after many trials, the problem remains. The only interesting clue may be, for those who understand all this better, that I can ssh to any machine outside ...

Re: cannot connect to WEP router

Have a look at openwrt.org and dd-wrt.com to see if either of them can flash the router with a firmware that has WPA2. Thanks very much for this info (I had no idea of their existence!). In a quick visit to these sites, I did not find support for my particular modem. I will look more (but won't be ...

Re: cannot connect to WEP router

What's preventing you from improving your network security with WPA or WPA2? I am still using a router from 8 (may be 10) years ago. And that does not seem to have WPA or WPA2. So really only thing that's "preventing" me from improving security is some money....and laziness :-). I quite like the id...

Re: cannot connect to WEP router

This is the only page (I could find anyway, after many long hours of searching on the web) that clearly and correctly tells about how to set up WiFi on RPi to connect to a WEP-only router. I know it's old and should be upgraded etc., but that's a different question. I am using RPi3's on-board WiFi a...
