Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi kajan Where I've had issues like yours in the past its been caused by bad power (cheap supplies & poor quality usb leads), failing cards & poor wi-fi connection (router being useless, wi-fi interference). When the power has been an issue I've also experienced interference on the preview screen (l...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Like you John, I've been running this for years with uptime in the months and only ever had hardware errors, specifically SD cards and power. You've probably tried the following but perhaps one of these will work: If you've eliminated the SD card then check on the power - some of my battery ones hav...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi Bill. I thought you might be interested in my current project where I've made a new version of my trailcam to turn it in to a handheld infra red video camera - the idea is that I can take it out to see if I can spot hares in the surrounding fields. Pikrellcam works perfectly on the move and snapp...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

hello, I am using RPi Cam Web Interface to watch my frontgate and backyard. I have set it to record anything on movement for a few secs, set up a buffer so I know what caused the motion detection to go. The trouble starts when the electricity goes out, what happens sometimes. When th RPi is restart...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi everyone My problematic Pi2 running PiKrellCam has crashed again... it happened again this morniing And again this morning :( Exactly similar to my last report (just different times on the frozen video & the last log entry). I think I'll try swapping power supplies with another pi & see what hap...

Re: PiZero, Camera and adafruit 2.8 TFT

Hi Tony. I tried to do the same with a pitft plus 3.5" & zero with no luck. Swapping the zero for a pi2 all worked so I think there is an issue with the camera somewhere in the kernel. Probably the simplest option (and assuming you've got enough time before the wedding) try getting hold of a pi2 mod...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Interesting story! It's just too bad a lot of us are putting up cameras because we are concerned about security. I have to leave home periodically for a week or two and that has motivated me a lot to keep working on pikrellcam. So far I've had no problems other than unwanted solicitors and I do hav...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi Billw. Not really about the workings of pikrellcam but I thought you might be interested / amused by the following: I've got 2 installs of pikrellcam, 1 of which looks out from a window at my car in a communal car park. This afternoon I came home from shopping and noticed some people acting suspi...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I have done tests on a PIR, just detecting, not triggering video, and it seemed to work fairly well, details here http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2013/01/cheap-pir-sensors-and-the-raspberry-pi-part-1/ Yes my camera is inside looking through a window, I put a hole through the wall and mounted the P...

Thanks for the confirmation, poing. I'll see if there is some way round the raspistill/raspivid issue as i's pretty useless for my purposes now.

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I've had this working really well over the last few weeks - a great piece of work!.
Since upgrading today to the latest install the night exposure seems to have lost a lot of sensitivity. Has something been changed in the program relating to the night exposure since the previous version?
Cheers

Re: Motion 3.2.12 NOT DETECTED

Hi liliandrea I'm not too hot on why the pi camera doesn't seem to work but I might be able to help with the motion issue: Motion outputs 2 x items, the config and the stream. It looks like yours is set up to have the config on 8080 and the stream on 8081. The config is working as you can see the "M...

Thanks for all your work on this bobtech. I've been having a similar issue to the "failed to start" problem - when I execute mjpg-streamer.sh from the desktop via file manager nothing happens. When I execute it from terminal there is a pause then "failed to start" appears however when I go to http:/...

Excellent. Glad they worked for you. You didn't happen to use a Rev 2 Pi did you? I'm hoping someone can test out the new board Revision checking feature of the LEDs program with a Rev 2. I'll probably buy one anyway, but not today :) Good luck with the RISCOS version. :D Unfortunately I'm in the s...

I ordered mine on 23 May and it arrived today with a reference of 33217 I would actually like to give RS a big thumbs up for getting this to me at all - My ordering invitation was waiting for me when I got back from the pub and during my excitement I managed to totally mess up entering my details!
