Re: Bluetooth 5 on Pi4 how about 5ish for the rest of us ?

First, Mesh is not part of Bluetooth 5. It's a separate standard that is built on top of Bluetooth 4.0. Now about Bluetooth 5. For every new standard Bluetooth SIG adds a bunch of optional features. Seldom they add any new required features. That means you can often just increase the version number ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

Wow, really impressive! There's a detail I don't understand: you said it's Bluetooth 5, but according to specs the CYW43455 is only 4.1. Is there a new unannounced chipset release that supports 5? If you go to https://launchstudio.bluetooth.com/Listings/Search and search for CYW43455 you will see t...

The datasheet at http://www.cypress.com/file/358916/download also states that it's a 4.2 chip. But when checking the...

Re: 720x480 over Composite?

I have the same problem. I have sdtv_aspect=3 in my config.txt file but I still get a 4:3 picture. omxplayer adds big borders. I know that 16:9 over composite use to send the picture in 720x576 pixels, but each pixel is not a square on the screen of course. However omxplayer should do a correct scal...
