Solution - disappointing. Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

sorry for the delayed reply, You may all be interested to know, i used the generous refund i got for the PI, to buy another from PiHut, it arrived, wifi worked straight out of the box, upon comparison there are definitely a few differences to the boards, im not suggesting the first is fake, but if a...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Hmm... same here. I never do anything other than install what I need for data work and leave everything else to the default user "pi". As for "unreliable" sources, I wouldn't know. I have purchase over a hundred Pi2 and Pi3 kits from AddaFruit and they are a certified distributor. But with so many ...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Are you guys getting the no wireless interfaces found message logging in as the default user (pi), or are you creating your own users? If it's the latter, then your user is not in the groups it needs to be. sudo usermod -G adm,dialout,cdrom,sudo,audio,video,plugdev,games,users,input,netdev,spi,i2c,...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Okay, I recently suffered through this as well. I had a perfectly working RPi 3 on Jessie and did the apt-get update, upgrade, and dist upgrade, only to find the WiFi no longer worked. Now this is my "opinion" but it seems that the upgrade path does not make your system equivalent to a 2017-01-11 n...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

@SeanHowson. You can check which version of the Linux kernel you are running with: uname -a Anything with a date later than July 2016 has the latest WiFi stuff for a Pi 3B, so you don't need to do the 'apt-get' stuff to get your built in WiFi working on a Pi 3B. I'm running 4.4.38-v7+, #938, dated ...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Any messages related to mmc1 during boot? ( dmesg | grep mmc1) Seemingly not im afraid, entered the command, nothing returned at all :/ There should be. 'mmc1' is the WiFi device, if the kernel can't talk to it it won't work! Check that the WiFi driver is loading with: lsmod | grep brcmfmac you sho...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Is this the 2017-01-11 (CM3 ready) version of Raspbian? If not then your first task is sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade to get the 4.4.38-v7+ kernel and latest stable bootcode. As far as i know it is yes thanks, i havent yet used the sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade command, what is ...

Re: Pi3 Wifi not working

Good to know it's not just me, have you tried using your bluetooth yet since i believe they are housed in the same module, my bluetooth works fine thus i would have thought any physical damage would impair both. :/

Pi3 Wifi not working [SOLVED]

Hello! So I have had a good look around all of the thread on seemingly every Pi forum going to try and first solve this issue before posting, I'm fairly new to Pi's but have a strong background in embedded systems and programming. I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 model B, I've been trying to ge...
