I have a touch screen with 90 degree (portrait) rotation, this is what worked for me:
Not the Official RPF screen, so basically irrelevant to this topic and forum section...

Automatic updates are not active on Raspbian, but you can add it yourself if you want.

I've send this command

Code: Select all

ssh pi@<192.168.2.10>
As @Rattus says.
The pointy brackets are often just in examples like this:

Code: Select all

ssh pi@<your ip address>
to indicate a field you have to replace with a valid value for your situation

Re: Installing an app problem

So you already copied the zip file to the Pi?

Use the Kodi interface to install it. On my OSMC I do this (but it's probably more or less the same in any Kodi setup):
Settings / add-on browser / Install from zip file
Then probably home folder and select the zip file

yes something like :

Is that the error msg you see on the mac?
It means that the command you give is incorrect.
Exactly what command do you use to start the SSH connection?

Re: RPi 3 as Windows 10 HID?

Why not use a Pi Zero: it can be used as a USB gadget, I suppose HID is not too far away ? Indeed. I'm currently playing with a Zero in Gadget mode, using both ethernet and HID gadgets at the same time (keyword: libcomposite). Good documentation (meaning something that I can understand ;) )is not e...

Re: Installing an app problem

You could download it on Windows and transfer it to he Pi. Use Filezilla, WinSCP or any other sftp client If it's a non Kodi app / script you could then log in with SSH and install it. If it's a Kodi script you can install it from the Kodi menus (IIRC it's called something like install from zip) BTW...

How does one set about deleting one's own post in a thread which has been locked?

Once a thread has been locked only the "Report this post" option is available.
Report the post and ask a mod to delete it.

Re: Headless first time connection ssh connection refused

As of today (Oct 15, 2017), it does not work. It does! Adding a file named "ssh" only enable the ssh daemon. However, current version of Raspbian (stretch) remove all network devices (e.g. eth0, wlan0) from the file /etc/network/interfaces; and leaving the directory /etc/network/interfaces.d empty ...

You need admin permissions to install modules with pip, so you may need to use 'sudo pip'
BTW: I don't think you need sudo to run your script.
