Some sensors need a certain amount of time between taking samples.
Having more info on the sensor and full code may give someone a chance to help further

Re: Raspbian Stretch: Setting a static IP

Did you make changes to other network related files, like /etc/network/interfaces?

BTW: if you use Raspbian desktop version then you should be able to set the static IP from the panel applet.

Thanks for the help,
but (I should have clarified that) I'd like to set it for wlan0 as I'm using the Pi3's wifi.
Change the interface name to 'wlan0'

Re: Ubuntu Mate with Raspbian kernel: New Firefox 55.0.1 crashes on startup

I agree that just because Ubuntu for RPi is Community supported is not a reason for not having a presence in the forums IMO there certainly should be a section in the Forums for it, and for people like me who need community support occasionally. cheers. It's not because it's community supported. If...

Re: Can not display the image

Be sure that you have the correct path and file name including all upper/lower case. The most time that I have problem like this is because the image failed to load because of incorrect file and path You would get an error message if the file does not exists. And yes, I tried that code on my Pi and...

It could mean that your Pi has to be RMAd. See e.g. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=178362 for the same issue with a Pi Zero W https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/758 NB: if you want to try the force_revision trick and you have a Zero v1.3 then you have to use Revi...

2. On Stretch, the /etc/network/interfaces file doesn't have the normal interface options (auto wlan0 inet manual, etc. whatever else is in there). This is where I normally set my static IP for my wireless connection. Has this changed somehow? If so, where do I set my static IP now? /etc/dhcpcd.con...

Did you download Noobs v2.4.3 from RPF downloads page (https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/)?
IIRC this version (or maybe v2.4.2) is the first that comes with Stretch

Is this a direct ethernet connection (ethernet cable from Pi to Pi)? If it's a LAN connection then the IP address should not be in the 169 range. How can one see if a install programme is available ..Yoi mention looking at the repo.
After 'apt update' you can check available packages / versions with apt-cache policy. E.g.

Code: Select all

apt-cache policy mosquitto

Are you powering the Pi with the PSU and the screen using jumper wires from the Pi or the other way around?
The first method causes fewer problems.
