Re: Turbo Mode / Overclocking / SD Corruption

Whre does the 333 frequency come from? Why this number? Is there any rules for this frequency? I have it from the official raspbian rpi-config overclocking presets, look here: http://linuxundich.de/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/raspbian_overclock3-475x303.png arm_freq = core_freq * X = sdram_freq * Y ...

Re: Turbo Mode / Overclocking / SD Corruption

I've made a couple of tests and in my case it seems that corruption only happens if I overvolt the cpu. For example: arm_freq=900 core_freq=450 sdram_freq=450 over_voltage=0 works very reliable with my pi, without any corruption on the sdcard at all. Another example: arm_freq=900 core_freq=333 sdram...

Re: Pi keeps crashing after latest patches

try it without overclocking the pi for some time. I had the same problem and after disabling the OC, everything runs fine now.

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

@mcgyver83: for me it looks like a corrupt SDCard/image due to the "A lone zero block" message in your logs. I am able to get some steps further. make source make create make dependencies went all well but on make build I got this error: ... configure: == libusb disabled. == will check for RPi suppo...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Eureka, I found the solution by myself :) after entering 'make source' a text editor pops up allowing you to make changes to a changelog file. I removed those lines: xbmc-rbp (12.0~git20120904.494cb5e-1) unstable; urgency=low * Initial release -- Antoine Bertin <[email protected].com> Wed, 05 Sep 2012...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Hi there, You can compile your own .debs for XBMC with the packaging suite I made : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging It builds with CEC support. Instructions are in the README. HI Diaoul, I'd love to, but unfortunately I'm getting this error message after "make source": make[1]: Enterin...

Re: No sound after rpi-update

tried to downgrade using dom's guide, it worked. uname -a tells me: Linux raspberrypi 3.1.9+ #278 PREEMPT Wed Aug 15 20:59:07 BST 2012 armv6l GNU/Linux but unfortunately mpd is still unable to play. I see the same error message as before. It definitively worked yesterday evening and all I did today ...

Re: No sound after rpi-update

Same here but with 128/128 split and ALSA audio (mpd). Sound worked well with the old 3.1.9 kernel but not with the new 3.2.27. I am using the analog output with mpd. Here the mpd.log: ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1401:(_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card Aug 19 18:55 : output: Failed to open "My ALSA Dev...

Re: Samba Performance

thanks for the screenshot @scorpion_tr I am reaching nearly 3,9 MB/s on writing. It's just half of your performance. What I've found out is I have a very high CPU Wait utilization: http://home.arcor.de/alexburna/cpu_wait.JPG And I have nearly 10% Packet Loss if a file transfer is running: http://hom...

8-9megabyte/s with ext4 external hd (3.5"). Off course when transferring small files the speed drops. do you get this speed on reading or on writing data to the raspberry? I got around 4,5megabyte/s on reading and just 3megabyte/s on writing with an ext4 external hd. I've then added the following l...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

first of all, thanks for the great efforts to get XBMC running. I have my pi up and running 24/7 and dont want to run XBMC all the time. Therefore I am looking for an easy and "wife compliant" way to start XBMC. It would be ideal to use rpi-cecd for it and to map an unused key to execute a custom co...

Thank you for the great work, it works like a charm with Raspbian and XBMC compiled from source. Now I am looking for a way to execute custom commands by pressing unused buttons. I'm planning to do nearly the same with my Pi! Unfortunately I will get mine in september so I still have to be patient... :) I want to use the pi absolutely headless for this purpose, just with 3,5mm jack, ethernet and power cord connected. I think it is no problem to configure some music deamon li...
