Re: OpenMSX 0.10 for Raspberry Pi!

Yes it will be slow because frivolous things like scan lines, blur and even a real time rewind feature are on by default, once it's all set I'm getting perfect speeds playing MGS 1+2, Sorry for the delay folks I've had a busy week. Copy of my config with key bindings for a dual shock 2. msx key matr...

Re: OpenMSX 0.10 for Raspberry Pi!

Yes you can it requires some set up in the msx start up scripts to get it working seamlessly though. I'm away from my pi currently but I can return tomorrow with a paste bin to the modified scripts.

Re: Speedlink Strike Gamepad

The joystick driver that is a part of linux kernel is pretty good and will handle most any usb joystick without problems it is only special cases like using a 360 controller wireless or using a Playstation Dualshock 3 with all it's extra analog inputs and accelerometers is were things get hairy.

I've had gles2n64 crashing mupen occasionally when you exit the emulator but only on zelda roms, it operates fine if your playing Mario or Starfox. But I've always still had ssh access even if it takes forever to respond.

Re: Pygame window won't play my codes

The obvious thing I can see is you have a typo where you attempt to call MainWindow.MainLoop() but the name of your class is Mainloop() with a lower case 'l'. Which should throw an attribute error if ran from the console or a terminal emulator.

As far as I've seen It is constant on the title screens, during cut scenes, and gameplay. If Link is on screen he is blinking between where he is supposed to be and a point below and to the left.

Thanks for the reply I suppose I just didn't notice the second frequency scroll by before, it was the interrupt que warning that drew my eye to it I guess.

I'm finally getting around to testing a bit more pulled master and compiled last night, I'm getting a few strange results for one I keep seeing the audio plugin being initialized twice, sometimes followed by a warning of "multiple instances of event type 0x8 in interrupt que" I don't know the cause ...

Re: Mupen64Plus - N64 Emulator for the Pi

For people not using an xbox controller xboxdrv can still serve the function of giving your joystick an ESC key in a roundabout way. First you map a button on your joystick to a virtual xbox pad and then map that button to a key. Seems counterintuitive but is actually a lot less trouble than joy2key...

I'll have to do some digging around Sauerbraten would be an excellent addition. --Update-- Some google translate and paying closer to that video has dashed my hopes he is only running the server for Sauerbraten on the Pi which has been done.

So it's packaged for arch? Does anyone know of a method to install Arch packages on Debian, like how alien allows you to install rpm packages? I've seen several blogs that claim to have compiled Love2d(or the sdl port Nlove) to the pi, but all fail to provide details or even link to a repo. It has b...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Of course I agree having a few titles run acceptably is better than a bunch running like crap. I'm not a stranger to the peculiarities of n64 emulation, even on a beefy desktop pc you can easily spend as much time configuring mupen to run one particular game as you do playing.

I'm very impressed with whats been accomplished, and can't wait to see where it goes. My kids and I played Mario for a few hours after I got it compiled and running. It was full speed including sound even with my modest 850 overclock(as my pi eats cards if I push for 900). I got excited while trying...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

In theory you should be able to set the ScreenUpdateSetting=# in the RiceVideoLinux.ini file to have it set on a per game basis. As of now all my attempts to do so have been thwarted and the emulator insists on using whatever is set in mupen64plus.cfg

All better gcc just didn't have enough ram to play with.

After playing around a bit it seems some options in mupen64plus.cfg are not working "Joy Mapping Stop" in particular I was trying to set. Is this because of the sdl code that was removed?

The pi user should already have them, open up a terminal type

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/profile
and thats it. I might not have been very clear my bad.

Re: Mupen64Plus - N64 Emulator for the Pi

It's a 256Mb model b, firmware and all is up to date as of this morning. I have a small 100Mb swap file in use. I have it compiling now with a 64/192 split and it seems to have passed the the point where it was crashing. Will edit this post if It is successful.

Success! happily chugging along now.
