FCEU doesn't work in Wheezy?

I had FCEU working reasonably well on Squeeze (one or two sound issues, but I was hoping updated drivers would fix it), but since trying out Wheezy I can't get it to launch; first run it starts but doesn't get beyond a black screen; hitting Esc closes it. Second run gives the black screen but the Pi...

Re: Mouse continually being "reset".

I temporarily "fixed" it by unplugging the mouse, and now it's started doing it with the keyboard -- I'll be merrily typing away when all of a sudden it'll behave like a key is stuck, then I'll get the same message as before, but with device 5. It's unlikely to be a power issue (it all worked fine w...

Mouse continually being "reset".

I just installed the Pisces image, and I'm getting a lot of sb 1-1.2: reset full speed USB device number 4 using dwc_otg messages. Device 4 is a mouse, and it's worked with no issue with Debian squeeze and Fedora. Any way I can get it to shut up?

Re: Running with Power port unplugged

I've got a no-brand USB hub that "powers" the RasPi -- it doesn't seem to provide enough juice for it to actually run, but the power LED on the RasPi stays lit when I unplug the micro-USB powersupply. After spotting it did this I've erred on the side of caution and not used it again!

Re: microUSB data lines

Hack some sort of serial cable to the GPIO header and use a USB-to-serial cable?

The WG111v2 is listed as working but I don't know if it's the same thing or not. If it is, instructions are also at the above link.

Re: New Pi; New Case. Now What?

Don't think so, but you can probably connect a USB sound device -- microphones definitely work.

Re: A real AB question: How do I 'run as root'

Synaptic took a loooooooong time to run the first time I tried it (I guess that was down to rebuilding the search index), but after that it seemed no slower than anything else in X.

If you want speed, use aptitude!

Not sure about changing the colours of the login prompt, but you can add a bit of colour to the shell: http://www.marksanborn.net/linux/adding ... rompt-ps1/

Assuming you have a Windows PC: 1) Download and unzip this: http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/images/debian/6/debian6-19-04-2012/debian6-19-04-2012.zip 2) Insert your SD card into your PC. 3) Download, install, and run this: https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/0.6/0.6/+download/win32diskimager-b...

Re: Emulators and the R-pi

I've got Stella, Atari800 (some odd controller issues aside), and FCEU working fine, but Vice is giving me grief -- it occasionally opens up off-screen or as a tiny window, and on a few occasions has hung the desktop (oddly the CPU meter keeps on chugging away, but nothing else responds). Also, wher...

Can only start X as root

Using the Debian squeeze image all of a sudden startx doesn't start X unless I'm logged in as root -- logging in as pi and trying it I get two FBDEV(0) FBIOBLANK: Operation not permitted errors, a mouse error ( failed to initialize for relative axes ), the screen goes blank for a second, and I'm ret...
