Re: How to connect the REMOTE OUT port of an amplifier to a Raspberry Pi?

Should be pointed out that the "remote out" (and "remote in") out-/Iinputs on a Marantz are active low, "inverted". So your spaces are coming out as marks, and vice versa.

Re: Install IrScrutinizer on RPi2/Raspbian Buster

You do not need Lirc. Delete it.

please do

Code: Select all

ir-ctl -f -d /dev/lirc0
ir-ctl -f -d /dev/lirc1
lsmod | grep gpio
in the shell and post the output.

Re: Install IrScrutinizer on RPi2/Raspbian Buster

This is not really a support request for IrScrutinizer; it is all about /dev/lirc and what recently happened with it. Since you phrased it as IrScrutinizer support, no-one felt compelled to answer. There are a number of thread coverring lirc_rpi -> gpio_ir_[rx|tx] migration. Repeating some stuff fro...

Re: LIRC GPIO driver for homebrew adapter

1. lirc_rpi is working fine. However, it only supports mode2 transmission type, so certain devices (like Roomba) will not work. I suspect this is a misunderstanding. A mode2 driver deals with "arbitrary" IR signals. The opposite is "lirccode" drivers.: Such a driver can in principle only transmit o...

Re: LIRC GPIO driver for homebrew adapter

lirc_rpi has always been frowned upon by the "real" Linuxers, so this is not new. gpio_ir_recv appears to be a viable alternative for receiving, but it lacks transmitting. But, it stills generates interrupts every few hundred micro seconds, which is not a really "clean" thing for a multitasking oper...

Re: lirc_rpi.c won't compile under latest media_tree & 4.9.2

I have done some work on "my" driver, reported in the other thread . Now it works with the new media files. (Thanx to @justme123 for testing it.) I have no problems retiring lirc_rpi. I did not create it (Aron did...). Lirc is, IMHO, one of the most overrated open source software there is. Just too ...

Re: LIRC GPIO driver for homebrew adapter

In the light of this thread I have made some work. The current version of "my" driver compiles and works with the current Raspian (with kernel 4.9.28-v7+). In branch media of that repository, there is a version that is compativle with the media files, as described here . (I have not tested it myself...

Re: lirc_rpi.c won't compile under latest media_tree & 4.9.2

@justme123:

So, to the original problem: My gut feeling is that it must be wrong to just nuke set_use_inc/set_use_dec. If so, it would have been dead code in the previous version...

Is IR transmitting (some peoples say, IMHO incorrectly, "blasting") an issue for you?

Re: lirc_rpi.c won't compile under latest media_tree & 4.9.2

Here is a thing to try: Assuming that you have access to an "old" system, find out if set_use_inc/set_use_dec are called (printk for example). If so, then just nuking it is probably not a good idea. Checked the dts configuration? Are you 100% sure that your Lirc works? Try to test the driver without...

Re: lirc_rpi.c won't compile under latest media_tree & 4.9.2

There appears to be a moderately active GIthub repo with the file at https://github.com/bengtmartensson/lirc_rpi, so you could raise an issue there. Well, that is my repos :-). @just123 mailed me, so I will write down some comments The "official lirc_rpi-thead is this . lirc_rpi depends on rc_core,...

Re: LIRC GPIO driver for homebrew adapter

Hi,

I have finally registered in this forum. 8-)

I have just updated "my" lirc_rpi (multi sender support etc) to the current setup with devicetree support etc. It is found in source form on Github.

Greetz,

Bengt
