Re: Raspcontrol - A Web Control Centre for the Pi

It seems many of you don't like Cached RAM being shown as used RAM on the Control Panel. :) Indeed. I removed cached memory as one of my first commits with the intention of (eventually) showing the actual and cached RAM as two separate colors on the graph. It would be neat if this could be done, ra...

I have been using Nano for any command line editing, because I use it at work too, and I will try out scite first because I have used it in windows several times :-)

Thanks for all your suggestions :-)

Do you have any specific feature requests? We are happy to build them in :-)

Re: I'm building a PHP Control Centre! (Raspcontrol!)

More and More Features! Raspcontrol has a really active development now and the features are coming in thick and fast! The more features you add, the more you'll end up looking like webmin ;) I don't agree. As Raspcontrol runs exclusively through PHP, with no other program running in the background...

Could I suggest that you make a new thread with a better title, perhaps in the projects section of the forum? It will probably attract more people :-)

Re: I'm building a PHP Control Centre! (Raspcontrol!)

I actually began working on something almost identical to this in every way, because I share the opinion that webmin is horribly bloated (especially so for the Raspberry Pi). I was having a lot of issues with webmin literally using all of my spare RPi RAM, hence why I started my own project. Yours i...

Re: HowTo - Mumble server

To those of you that are running Mumble on their RPi - If you notice that it starts to use a lot of CPU with lots of people online, reduce the bitrate in the settings.

Re: High CPU usage when downloading with rtorrent

I had a fairly similar issue; My RPi would seem to completely freeze. I am running headless, so I don't know if it actually froze, but SSH stopped working as did MySQL and Apache -- The only way to fix it is to remove the power plug (which is annoying). I have set rTorrent to download with a lower l...

Re: Loging in

Just checking; When you type the password, just because you can't see the characters you type, or any asterisks (which you may be used to), the password will still be taken. Go ahead and type the password and press enter, and it should work.

If your issue is something other than that, ignore me ;)

Text Editor with decent syntax highlighting

I currently use Notepad to code PHP on my main Windows PC -- I would love to begin coding on Linux machines + the RPi, but I have not yet found a decent and easy to use text editor with good syntax highlighting.

Does anyone else code PHP on Linux/Rpi? If so, which editor do you use? :)

I did the exact same thing as RaTTuS; I removed the swap partition to extend the main partition, thus giving me the whole of the SD card to use for storage. If I read your post right, you are asking why swap isn't enabled by default and why swappiness is set to 1 by default. This is because most fla...

I have set up my SSH with brute force protection set to scan for brute forcing every one minute (via cron).

Re: £5 16GB SD Card from Play.com

Seems like they probably got a lot of demand for it before, and if they are getting a good markup then it makes sense to put it on offer again.
