Re: ALSA lib pcm.c:7339:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

I just started having this same error in a pygame app I wrote to run on the RPi. I am not doing any sound on the device, but I am trying to load some rather large images (15 mb) using pygame.image.load(file).convert_alpha(). I think that my issue is relating to memory issues, did you ever find out a...

Re: Creating a Pi Wifi Web Radio

RetardedBear, Thats my blog post you linked to, and yes those should be all that you need as far as parts. As far as speakers go, there are LOT's of battery powered speaker sets out there for cheap. The audio output on the RPi is somewhat limited in quality, but there are USB sound cards that can gi...

Re: Mono (C#) anyone?

Wow, this is great. I have been working mostly in the .NET MF tools such as Netduinos and FEZ chips (fez domino, et al.) but have tried a few projects with my Raspberry Pi in the hopes of one day making something that can do OpenCV on a small machine like the RPi. What I am starting to wonder after ...

Re: Noice on analouge audio with mpd

Hmm, when I first got mpc and mpd up and running I heard some slight issues (minor) with the quality and noticed that the "mpc volume" command would have strange behaviors (i.e. would set the volume to 167% instead of whatever integer I put in). After the latest round of updates I had to do in order...

Re: OpenCV webcam "capture timeout"

caveat: I am not a Linux person. I am a .NET developer by day and I do a lot of Netduino stuff at night. But I do know that using networking an writing to the SD card are expensive processes. They take a bunch of processing cycles. I am 38% of the way of getting OpenCV installed on my RPi right now ...

Re: OpenCV webcam "capture timeout"

how about if you got rid of the image file delete action? put the timestamp in the name of the file so that they are always unique, and turn off the ftp(at least to test). ftp and the file actions are some of your bigger time wasters. Just get rid of everything that takes up cycles and isn't critica...

Re: OpenCV webcam "capture timeout"

David, you might want to try and not FTP the files up as your first test. Try to save the files locally on the RPi. It will take longer to FTP the image than it will take to just save it locally and will eliminate some of your complexity. There are probably easier ways of just getting a screen captu...

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Boot, Red Power Light Only

Update: I also had the Rpi that stopped booting and would only show the red LED with the Green LED just barely on. I didnt give up and started from scratch again and am now up and running. Here is what I did. Went back to Best Buy and got a brand new $8 SD card and a $9 USB power supply (smallest I'...

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Boot, Red Power Light Only

The thing is, the card I have is able to be read by my laptop without issue, so it cant be a "card cant be read" issue, unless there are some defects in the card holder on the RPi that are causing the issue.... still no joy on my end

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Boot, Red Power Light Only

sorry, another update, I AM using a card from the approved list, but this is what it says on the list:
8GB SDHC Class 4 (SD4/8GB) (does not work with current build of raspbmc)

I am not using raspbmc, I am using the Debian “squeeze” (the simple one since I am a linux n00b).

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Boot, Red Power Light Only

I can try another card (but my card DID work before). I will try that this weekend and let you guys know how it goes. Is there a list of "confirmed" working cards? I havent seen that list. And just because you card may work right now doesnt necessarily mean its "confirmed", because mine worked for a...

Re: Raspberry Pi Won't Boot, Red Power Light Only

I would like to take some solice in the fact that i am not the only one having this issue. I also get a red power light and the green light is just barely lit (almost not at all) but nothing else happens. I had it up and running for a week, have an 8 gb card that I was able to load the OS on and eve...
