Re: TV Hat prevents Pi from booting [solved]

Two years on from buying one, I FINALLY got round to trying it and was worried I'd got a dodgy one when it stopped the Pi from booting!
D'oh! I'd not realised it was the wrong way round.

Re: Kernel updated, now fails to load kernel modules?

Thank you so much for posting this. I had the same issue but ended up re-doing my SD card. It was clear that something during the upgrade had gone wrong (just not exactly what).

At least I know it wasn't just me ;)

Re: Ghost/Phantom Touches

Related to this, I had a similar issue of random "pinch zooms" happening with mine (was displaying a web-page). Turned out that it started when I switched where I was getting power from. It happens when I power it from the USB3 port of my PC! Maybe some form of interference? Changing back to a regul...

Re: Raspberry Pi B+ turn usb power off

I've just been trying this on an old B+ (revision 1.2) and while -P2 works (for powering off/on ALL ports) I can't seem to control individual USB ports. While switching all off works for what I want, I'm intrigued as to why I can't do -P 3, 4 or 5? Thanks for this thread though, it was just what I w...

...except...

On rebooting, the touchscreen doesn't work!

The Pi is clearly running (I can ssh to it) but the touchscreen will only re-activate after pulling the power.

Odd!

Re: Issues with RasPi4 and original touchscreen

Well, I can confirm that the original touchscreen does indeed work with the Pi4 but only by manually changing the orientation via the desktop. During boot, the screen will remain inverted (until X is loaded). Just a shame I can't have it pre-configured via files in the /boot partition (which was wha...

Re: Issues with RasPi4 and original touchscreen

Thanks for that update. In a way it's good to know it's specific to RasPi4.

Re: Issues with RasPi4 and original touchscreen

No, but I need to re-try a Pi2 using a Buster image in case that's the issue.

In a way, I'm glad it's not just me.

Issues with RasPi4 and original touchscreen

I've had the original official 7" touchscreen since it first came out. It's been working fine with a RasPi2 but when I switched to RasPi4 (both 1GB and 4GB models) I get the following issue: From a fresh Rasbian install, the initial boot process shows OK (apart from being upside down). I let it get ...

Re: How to change display timeout

Also the default X screensaver can have it's timeout changed by setting a value in seconds with:
@xset s 120
(in this example 120s or 2 minutes).

Re: Adjusting LED brightness?

Thanks for this. I wanted a far more subtle activity indication so went for:

itertools.chain([0] * 100, range(0, 5, 1), range(5, 0, -1)))

and increased the sleep *3 for good measure.

Re: Mouse pointer stuck at bottom - only moves left and righ

Just another instance of the same (or at least similar) issue. Wireless keyboard with mini trackball. Works fine in Windows but on the RasPi the trackball keeps getting the mouse pointer stuck in the taskbar. NOTE: It's not just as if there are constant down commands being received. It looks more li...

Re: No display on a VGA monitor

I had a similar problem getting VGA output via a HMDI converter until I got it working with the following /boot/config.txt file:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=0x10
#disable_overscan=1

(the overscan doesn't appear to matter?)
