Very painful :D I spent about 2 hours googling before I realised it was the lock switch, ho hum.

Err I feel silly :) the card lock got switched to on when I placed it in my card reader, all good now. Thanks

When I try the DD command I get this error, even if I run as sudo :cry:

dd bs=1m if=~/Downloads/RasPiWrite/debian6-19-04-2012/debian6-19-04-2012.img of=/dev/rdisk1

dd: /dev/rdisk1: Permission denied
