Re: [YES] Does Zero-W inbuilt WiFi support WAP / soft AP?

Hi Hove, are you using hostapd with the nl80211 driver? This doesn't work for me... Failed to create interface mon.wlan0: -95 (Operation not supported) wlan0: Could not connect to kernel driver Could you post your hostapd.conf file so I can see what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks, -Duncan.

Re: RPi3 bluetooth for console?

Thanks again for the advice.
I've made a script to apply the changes to a fresh install (totally insecure):
https://github.com/DrRowland/RPi-Bluetooth-Console
Cheers, -Duncan.

FWIW, for my purposes it would be handy if this were a default install option... (save faffing about getting the IP).

Re: RPi3 bluetooth for console?

Thanks Douglas, that's working great for me on a MacBook (El Capitan). I included the further steps I used in case anyone else passes this way: Make the RPi bluetooth device discoverable... $ bluetoothctl [bluetooth]# discoverable on [bluetooth]# quit ...and pair on the MacBook using the GUI. This m...

Yes, I think that's exactly what I'd like to do... do you have any pointers?
(I'm presuming this happens after boot, so I wouldn't be able to see boot messages)
>"Why not use WiFi?"
I'm just trying things out of curiosity :)

RPi3 bluetooth for console?

I'd like to setup the RPi3's bluetooth so I can use it to connect to the console (e.g. from my laptop)
(I currently use usb-serial cables for this, but my students keep breaking them :( )
Thanks in advance for any pointers to achieving this,
-Duncan.

Re: Convert Live Video to YUV/RGB

Still playing around with this, but no further. The RaspiVid/... mmal examples are very good, but quite complex and so the learning curve is too steep (for me at least). Is there a simple example somewhere that just does one thing, i.e. open camera with callback to process data? Thanks -D. Addendum:...

Or write my own? So I can OpenGLES 2.0 a shader and apply to the live video feed?
If so, sounds good for my purpose :O)

Video Effects

Hi All, I had a look at the raspivid source code and I couldn't see where the video effects (e.g. hatch) are coded. Are these created by the camera (i.e. the programmer just sets a flag to select a pre-programmed effect built into the camera), or can we write our own effects? If so, is there a shade...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

There is another thread which gies a donwload link for the updated driver, but unfortunately I do not have it to hand at the moment. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=95284#p95284 It's actually in this thread, on this page (at least on my computer). Scroll up to 8th June. Than...
