The IO chip can get hot if you have a lot of high power usb devices connected, I have seen in infrared photo of the Pi3B.

I put a heatsink on the SOC the IO and ram chip on the bottom of the board, it was a 3 pack of heatsinks

Here are some ceramic heat sink`s they use to have an 15x15 but it maybe out of stock. I usually prefer Samsung and Sandisk but there are a lot of fakes of these memory brands, you can download a fake flash memory tester app, or even an android app that reads the internal details of the card.

I used my Samsung 5.3v 2.0amp adaptor that came with my Tablet for a couple of weeks without any problems on my Pi3B

I replaced it with an Belkin 2.4amp adaptor and tested it to 2.4amp for 30min and the voltage at the socket only dropped from 5.12volts to 5.09volts

I have thought about getting one of those switched microusb cables, but i have seen them advertised as 2.0amp and 2.5amp from different seller when they look like the same cable, so i though the 2.5amp was a lie, as i have an Pi3B 2.0amp is a bit low so i decided against buying one.
