Another program to add to the list of things that work in their 64 bit version where the 32 bit version did not work...

Also, youtube always used to crash if I used my arrow keys to move videos forward and backward too quickly... I've been trying to make youtube crash on 64 bit os, it hasn't crashed once so far, so whatever the issue was there seems to have sorted itself out, again possibly because of the update chro...

Re: Request for 64 bit raspbian.

I just tried 64 bit version of Raspberry Pi OS. Many things fixed, (I broke some other stuff :(, but when researching cause I'm not sure there is any solution).... Freecad.. Installs and runs fine openscad.. installs and runs fine hedgewars.. installs and runs fine Xonotic.. same issue I had with 32...

Re: Request for 64 bit raspbian.

also, for hedgewars, if you download the buster backport of the latest version of hedgewars, they have fixed the bug that affects 32 bit platforms. You have to grab the armhf version and that installs fine in raspbian. (for those interested in howto get it to work with relatively little effort). Her...

Re: Request for 64 bit raspbian.

it's a build of stable 0.18.4, but it works (mostly): viewtopic.php?f=66&t=244151&start=50#p1612419 As far as I can tell it won't create a new document, it just crashes immediately as soon as it tries to render any 3d content. People have had luck getting it to run on ubuntu from the forum posts I'...

Re: Request for 64 bit raspbian.

So, I selfishly want my cake and to eat it too. I like raspbian better than ubuntu/gentoo/other because it specifically targets the pi inclusive of really great drivers/libraries/applications that aren't present by default (or at all) in other distros, but I want my 64 bit support too (mainly so tha...

Request for 64 bit raspbian.

My request is to create and maintain a full 64 bit version of Raspbian for those users who want to run it and don't mind giving up compatibility with the older pi's. I am sure this request has been made many times. Among the partial or complete reasons why not to do it that I can think of include......

PWM support for scratch 3?

Question to the group, are there plans to add pwm output support to the scratch 3 gpio module? If so, is there anything resembling a timeframe on that (even loose would be awesome to know). The main question is about official support, however... Does anyone know any good workarounds for scratch3 to ...

Re: Python code to add a method "show_message_threaded" to the SenseHat object. Makes creating menus easier.

Why not create a pull request on the sense hat code itself? Also, regarding your code, not sure why you are using "self" and "nonlocal" in your code. You haven't created a class so there is no need for "self". Conversly, if you did create it as a class, you wouldn't need to use "nonlocal" Good idea...

Re: Sending images from Two Raspberry Pi

a reasonably easy and flexible solution is to use the scp command. scp stands for secure copy, and is part of the ssh "secure shell" series of tools. I believe on raspbian openssh is the project they use for this. copying files is as easy as scp myfile computer_ip: or scp computer_ip:myfile ./ laten...

For a really easy way to do this, look at using the "if this then that" service otherwise known as ifttt. with this service you can type in strings as prompts like... Re: Python code to add a method "show_message_threaded" to the SenseHat object. Makes creating menus easier.

the code on the github link above has been updated to display an actual menu to demonstrate how easy this makes menu creation. It's data driven so all you have to do to add a menu item is create a function that does the thing you want, and a menu entry for it, the rest of the code doesn't have to ch...

Python code to add a method "show_message_threaded" to the SenseHat object. Makes creating menus easier.

Here is some Python code to add a method "show_message_threaded" to the SenseHat object. The intention is to make creating menus easier. the gist is.. the normal "show_message" blocks until it's done scrolling the message this new version scrolls in a thread so it doesn't interrupt execution of the ...

What did you do to get Netflix working? there are some blog posts that outline the process in detail, but the long and short is that you grab the widevine library from a chromos image copy it into /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libwidevinecdm.so then go get a plugin that allows you to change the user-ag...

You've got a larger problem if you are counting on running android on pi hardware. There are some neat demos out there, so there are people working on it, (not sure what the very latest state of the art is), but bottom line, that's cutting edge stuff and I doubt it's ready for prime time yet.

I didn't quite catch what you are after, you want to use the pi to serve audio out to the world, or you want to use the pi to consume the audio, or you want to use the pi to consume the audio and (for lack of a better word) re-serve or proxy it back out to the world at large?
