Actually Dirk maybe you were right. I just though maybe the pins I soldered on have a dodgy connection or have been shorted. I will check when I get back.

Thanks,
Louis P

Re: i2c OLED remote i/o error and i2c device not found error

How is your device wired? I saw a post somewhere where the device was detected with i2cdetect, but the same error message when the script was run. The problem was a dodgy ground connection. Dirk thank you for your help. I also saw this post and checked my ground wire but it looked fine so I didn't ...

Wow! This just got stranger. I got the same errors again all of a sudden and in between running the scripts all I had ran was the text I wanted printed! Again I entered to install i2c tools and the program started working again! Anyone have any idea why this happens and how to fix it?

Re: i2c OLED remote i/o error and i2c device not found error

Okay I literally just did nothing for five minutes ran the program again and it worked! The only thing I did was run sudo apt-get install i2c-tools but it read package lists, built dependency tree, read state information and then said that it was already the newest version with 0 upgraded, 0 newly i...

i2c OLED remote i/o error and i2c device not found error

I have been using a i2c OLED successfully recently. However, I now get a Remote I/O error when I run the Adafruit library for it and if I try luma.oled instead I get an error saying error: I2C device not found on address: 0x3C However when I run i2cdetect -y 1 the device is clearly shown to be using...

Graham you have watched the same video as I did yesterday. LCBs do sound good and I have already emailed Prologium (the manufacturer) of these batteries to see if I can buy some. However, I can not access their website but from what I have read elsewhere they are not available yet for consumers to ...

Re: Where to buy AIY Vision Kit UK?

We have all been left in the dark about this. Originally it was said to be Easter but that was almost half a year ago now. Judging by the fact more distributors are selling the Vision Kit (for example recently Adafruit), the next stage should be getting them to the UK. Wouldn't be surprised if Pimor...

So I accidentally cut a lipo at the side and it sparked and is now warm. How can I quickly and safely dispose of it?

Re: Do I need a breadboard??

I don't know your exact setup but here are some general rules: 1. If the circuit requires capacitors, resistors, transistors etc. use a breadboard 2. If you don't have to add extra components as listed above you can directly connect everything to the Pis pins 3. If you can solder and want to make yo...

I have to click any of the bits at the top (blog, downloads etc.) twice to actually direct me to the right page. The first time I click them they just get a bit of colour under them.

Re: Pi Portable Recorder - Project Progress

Thanks for the help again! :D I presume you are talking about the Audio Injector Ultras 1/4" jacks. The adapters would be the best option but trying to make the product portable will probably mean I can't fit the 1/4" jacks and adapters inside the recorder. I have 10 days to decide whether to back t...

Re: Pi Portable Recorder - Project Progress

Going back to the Audio Injector Zero, I have looked closer and it seems it has input LGR pins broken out on the right of board. From my quite limited knowledge LGR is used in a TRS jack which would mean I can just wire it directly up to a TRS jack. Am I right saying this?

Thanks,
LouisP
