Re: The Raspberry Pi Desktop OS 64 bit

Opensuse was I think the first and possibly the best. I have a Ubuntu bias and created a lubuntu ISO for the pi 3 (https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=190511 ) so you can use that if you just want to try arm64. The boot is really slow compared to raspbian, but that is mainly due to t...

What is your normal linux distro of choice? thanks for replying, my choice was raspbian Jessie and wheezy before, now I should chang it. do you know which 64bit distro is better? By what criteria do you measure "better"? Or to...

Re: GPIO Keypad in raspberry Pi

One way is to look at using uinput to feed in the keycodes to the Pi. It is a way of making a "dummy" HID device. I've used it once to receive keypresses over a network connection to remotely control an app. I don't have the code for that any more, but it shouldn't be hard to find examples. thank y...

GPIO Keypad in raspberry Pi

Hi, I want to use a matrix keypad in my raspberry pi, I wrote a program that can connect the keypad with pi's gpio. I assigned alphabetic and numeric keys to the keypad and I can read the corresponding key's value of the key when I push it. I'm wondering how to use this keypad as main keyboard for t...
