You'll also want to be sure you've updated the Pi4 bootloader and configuration to USB boot..
This was the question. On Pi4 1.2 the configuration update is necessary? It can be done only with SD card boot.

Boot OS from HDD

On Pi4 is it possible to install Raspbian OS directly on USB HDD and start working - without SD card?

Pi4 PSU

Standard adapter for Pi4 is 15W. Is it enough to connect NVMe disk? AFAIK the consumption of SSD or other flash devices has peaks (for write operations) and the old adapter if RPi 1 and 2 was not able to supply the necessary power.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

I wonder which cooling to choose. Here are 4 variants. First is simple heatsink - it will not have problems with free space in Pi case but the cooling effect is worst compared with other types. The second (XL) probably will be better for cooling but not sure about problems with its size. Third is co...

What is different in 1.4 (4GB) and is it already available? I hope there is a text on board for its revision number.

Latest Pi4 revision

Hi. I did not found official info which is the newest revision of Raspberry Pi 4 hardware. I see offers for rev 1.2 as "newest model" but want to verify this before purchase.

Re: 3.5mm jack / RCA output

I wonder whether video resolution can be automatically changed for RCA. No. Composite video displays cannot signal to the Pi what they accept. What the Pi will send has to be specified in 'config.txt'. My idea was for such logic: HDMI is not connected, assume we use RCA - switch to VGA (640x480). P...

OK, 3.5mm jack. I want to play video with Kodi - low resolution is not a problem.

3.5mm jack / RCA output

If RPi is connected over HDMI it reads information for resolution of display. But what happens if it is connected via RCA - does it know it or the only information is for missing HDMI connection? I wonder whether video resolution can be automatically changed for RCA.

Re: CPU temp

Is it enough to have heatsink only on CPU or is better to put 3 heatsinks on all chips like this:

I think when temperature become high, I get noise on screen (random lines and dots). Is this effect from overheat or simply bad HDMI cable?

CPU temp

Is it normal CPU temperature of 56-57' for RPi 3B+ ? There is no heatsink. Maybe it is good to decrease the CPU frequency?

No it isn't. Missing would imply it should be there. It shouldn't. No need for it. USB3 is fine, and there isn't space on the board for the connector anyway. If you want SATA use a USB3->SATA adapter. OK, then an official USB3->SATA adapter would be good accessory. With SATA+Power connectors powere...

Re: STICKY: Installing FreeBSD

Maybe silly question but is FreeBSD port working stable on RPi? It seems Pi is mainly used with Raspbian but if FreeBSD works without problems, I think it can be real alternative. I guess most people don't know about it or use the OS which is used by others.

Raspbian security updates

Hi. I know Raspbian is cloned from Debian which is known as very stable and secure. I guess that improvements in Debian since the first release of Raspbian are not transferred (to Raspbian). The question is whether Raspbian has regular security updates and can it be used for mail/DNS/web server with...

But the 7" display is still being sold.
Because this is the official Pi display. There are no 7" and 10" models. The choice is between official 7" or 3rd party 10" or more.

I wonder why these question come when the development is nearly to the end. Do you have Plan B, if the answers are negative?
