Re: ExpEyes and Jessie?

Hi I have the same problem with Noobs raspbian Pixel desktop with Pi2 and Pi3. No problem with Windows or Ubuntu on pc. But it does work with Ubuntu mate 16.04 on Raspberry pi. I don't know why there is a difference. If you managed to resolve the issue with raspbian I'd love to know how you did it!

Re: Ubuntu MATE 16.04 LTS Login Problem

Hi, yes I am experiencing the same bug, and even the guest login is not working. This is with a new installation on a 16Gb card. Looks like I'll be staying with the older version for now...

I find that Epiphany just hangs and takes ages to open a new page. For me, Iceweasel or Chromium are much faster

Re: CPC Ireland shipped Pi2 in 24hrs!

My PC motherboard died last summer and I used my model B+ board until it was replaced and I thought to myself at the time if only the PI was faster I could live without my desktop PC... Anyway I jumped at the chance to order the PI 2 only yesterday from CPC in Ireland (approx EUR 47.00 delivered) an...

Re: Brewery

not being funny now steve , but the cheapest Labjack on that link is at least twice the price of the Pi . before adding sensors and switches . Personally , I'd I'd be hoping that with a little elbow grease , research and perserverance a solution can be made that comes in about that price including ...

Re: Brewery

I am a Mechatronics student in Ireland and I use a LabJack device for automation projects. I frequent the Labjack Forums as I saw a post that you might find interesting as you can use the Labjack with a Raspberry Pi and control it with Python - I have proven that myself - see my post on their site. ...

Re: Cheap powered USB Hub (UK)

Well for the record, the serial Number of my dodgy model is 0112-1288. But the device should not function in that way - i.e. kill the PC as if I'd ripped the power plug out of the wall. This occured when there was no load connected to the hub (no devices at all!) I set up my bench power supply to po...

Re: Switching an appliance on and off

The safest way is to buy a USB-connected relay board. Search the internet for "USB relay 220v", here is just one example http://www.electronic-software-shop.com/lng/en/hardware/relay/ You do have to be careful to find one which has Linux drivers available. I use a LabJack U3-HV DAQ to interface wit...

Re: Cheap powered USB Hub (UK)

I bought one of the 7 port 3A hubs from ebay (ebay ref. 280522733324) and it is dodgy. I cannot boot my pc with it connected - its like the hub's PSU is shorting the PC's own PSU. If the PC is already running either in Windows 7 or Debian 6.0.5 then plugging the 3A PSU into the hub when connected to...
