while this will "fix" it, that isn't the solution to the problem. raspbian needs to pull the latest package and revert to the previous version until they decide to push the newest firmware.

this still doesn't fix the issue. if someone downloaded the raspbian image and updated, omxplayer would not work.

the omxplayer should be reverted to the previous version or the firmware should be updated. the package is broken until one of those happens.

whenever I run it I get: /usr/bin/omxplayer.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/omxplayer.bin: undefined symbol: vc_tv_get_display_state

I had no issues with the last version.

I tried both the old raspbian and the new so i don't think I have to disable turbo mode. The OK light only lasts a few seconds before it fades out to dark. I tried 2 PSUs, the one I was running it off and my girlfriend's iphone 4s and both have the fade out light. If F3 is blown, I guess I'm screwed...

Do you want audio from the HDMI port? Then just use the HDMI plug. If you want to get a USB sound card then you plug that into the USB and then plug whatever you want to receive the audio into that card. The USB sound card does not take the audio onto the USB card and then push it back over the HDMI...

omxplayer was working with the bug that it ended early. Now after updating I get:

pi@raspberrypi /usr $ omxplayer

I had to resize manually. I tried using the raspi-config twice and it froze up for me. Using good old fdisk, reboot, and resize worked for me though.

It does take some time though (at least on a class 6 16gb card). Best part of doing it manually is you can run df and see how far along it is.

do you have an IR receiver that works with Linux?

It wouldn't be raspberry pi specific, find an IR sensor that works with linux and then use the apple remote with it.
