Re: Wire GPIO into remote control PCB?

Can you link to the vendor's or manufacturer's page?

They may have device other than the handheld remote that you could control by a computer or possibly even by an IR control.

Re: how heavy is raspbian ?

The installation is only the start of the amount of secondary storage occupied by the OS. Each update to the OS or installed applications consumes more SD card memory. The memory load on the system memory depends upon what services you are running. The full updated system can easily fit on an 8 giga...

Can you use the Pi camera?

Make sure the contacts on the ribbon cable are matched to the contact pins in the camera socket at both ends. Also make sure the cables are properly aligned and not an an angle.

Can you clearify "cannot login?"

Can you get to the login prompt?

It is possible that the Pi has been reassigned a new IP address.

Re: How do I keep my Pi clean?

Many people use compressed air cans to blow off the dust and if need be a vacuum cleaner. There are small brush attachments that might help. Dust does not appear to harm ICs. Not since mechanical relays have been removed form electronic digital computes has regular vacuuming of the hardware been nec...

If you have not changed the default password supplied with raspbian and connected to the internet or allowed others to use you Pi, it is possible someone changed the pi user's password.

There are POE injectors which can inject the power after the router, switch, or hub socket. There are also injector and spliter pairs that might be able to be used for those without the PoE hat.

Re: Raspberry Pi not lighting up at all, official 7” touchscreen

Make sure that the ribbon connectors are matched to DSI connectors. There were some Pi's that had the plugs soldered in backward. the 7 inch screen only need ground and _5v. There are also USB b micro Y connectors to share power from the power supply to the screen and Pi. Use only 1 power sharing or...

One can also draw power form the GPIO pins, just turning off the USB ports might not be the full solution you are looking for.

Have you searched the repositories for such a keyboard?

I use synaptic for this as it provides a more readable display than aptitude does.

Will you be using a touch sensitive screen?

Re: PI1B+ USB boot not work

That changes a lot of things. Not only does the number of USB ports change with different models but also many of the options including the processor chip on the board. The usb boot was not introduced until the Pi B 2+. So only some Pi B 2+ and Pi 3s can boot from a USB drive or network. Raspberry P...

Re: Power problems RPI 3B+ with touchscreen

The warning is reported when the voltage drops below 4.63 volts DC. When the psu has to provide more amps than it can provide it lowers the output voltage to provide the higher amp output. Also it is easier to detect the voltage rather than the amps. If one reads the solution in the documentation it...

Re: help with login

You tried what?

If you are booting into the command line then use:

sudo raspi-config

and change the boot options

If you are booting directly to the graphical desk top use the configuration option in the menu.

Re: Power problems RPI 3B+ with touchscreen

A double check of the power requirements of the Pi 3. The POE hat provides 5/2.5A DC power to the Pi. This the stated required power requirement for the Pi 3 series. Your power supply cannot provide enough amperage for the Pi3 needs.

Re: apt is broken and cant find any solutions

You could have tried aptitude, even from the command line, to update , upgrade and install packages. I would suspect that the specific library that caused the failure could have been down or there could have been a filter blocking your access to it. Many times I have found waiting some hours or even...

To stop a running program, make the program the focused window and use the key combination of Alt + F4 keys.

Re: Can’t access Rasbian boot partition on SD card

You can edit the Pi's configuration by using the SD card to boot a Pi computer and then use the raspi-config to enable the SSH interface. Unless you are logged in as the "root" user, you cannot directly access the root directory. You need to use "sudo" command to edit a file in the "/root" directory...
